i was only suggesting a shuffle if he was gonna use it for running or something similar. the lack of features, well that wouldn't really matter because if you're running why would you look at the screen anyways? right now i use a minidisc player and it weighs my pants down while i run. the shuffle wouldn't have that problem cuz it weighs lighter then a key.
i'm not completey sure, but aren't other brand with the same features as a shuffle costing a lot more? can you buy other mp3 players with 512mb for as little as a shuffle?

i've had an ipod mini (blue hehe) since september and i absolutely love it
i use it daily, although theres not as much song space, mine filled up (i removed songs i dont listen to) but there's 763 songs on it now and room for more, so it depends on how many songs u wanna keep on it at one time
i'd also reccomend the mini's cos they're just hotter

I like my 40 gig iPod. It's about half full of music (was full, trimmed it down a bit), but i have yet to put my CD collection onto it, or I could just use it as a portable HD.

Really, the full size iPods are not that big. Fits in my jeans pocket comfortably, or I just throw on a jacket or a vest or something. Hell, just get headphones with a long cord and throw the fucker in a backpack.

Nothing quite like having 35 days of music in your hand.

Oh yeah, and I have never had issues with loading 1-2 hour sets on it.

heh, i have a nomad jukebox 3, its pretty slick, crazy features, big space, but it takes rechargeable batteries.
i fucking hate it, it drives me insaaaaaaane

just get something that takes AA or at least AAA. that way at least you can carry extra batteries and when it dies, just put in new ones!

dude, seriously.. the reason I got my mini was because it had the sick accessories like the iTrip...but the batteries last 2 hours with the iTrip...not even long enough to go on the so-called TRIP!!! Where can u go when u only have two hours of music? WHERE CAN U GO!!
