The funeral for the four fallen officers

WOW!!!

i only caught the end of it...but what an amazing tribute to those four men.

they were so young and had all just started their careers, and their lives.

so incredibly sad. but what a beautiful way to say goodbye to them.

"fallen" officers.

I hate that term. They didn't trip, they were shot. Pointlessly, I might add.

It's a tragedy, to be sure, but I mean - isn't it a basic hazard of the job? Would there be that much of a fuss if four guys were killed when their dumptruck rolled over?

that would explain why he went on and shot a bunch of pigs.

wasnt the shooting about a drug bust gone wrong? well - in the states this is a regular occurence - but seeing as were in canada I guess we should pay our respect to the death of four people - pigs or no pigs.

does a dumptruck driver sign up for a job to protect the people of his country?!

i respect those who would put their lives out there to keep me safe (and yes i know not every cop is good...lets not get into that kinda stuff)

I mean..it's unfortunate but really now, just cuz they are a part of this big production memorial doesn't mean their lives are going to effect my day any more than the life of any one of the people that died that same day.
Fuck them and their million dollar funeral..bury their bodies in cheap wooden caskets and give the families the money~

^^^ most people that are police officers have wanted for many many years...

they dont do it just for a paycheck (some of them yes)

as for the just bury them in the wooden coffins and give the money to their families:

they're families will get money from the government, and from the special ribbons sold to support this, why not let the family have the honour of having everyone affected by this tradegy there?!?!?

do u wanna be just tossed in the ground?

what you're saying is that dumptruck driver wouldn't risk his life to protect his country..you don't know that. You don't know what that guy is willing to do to protect you. You really actually have no idea who is heroic and caring and who is not. The doctors are no worse than the cops. The cops are no better than the teachers...it's a profession based on the stability of our society. It's not a job for a hero. A hero would save lives not capture them to put through a system that destroys humanity.

If they can afford to have a huge funeral like this for them then the amazing doctors that actually save lives should be able to have funerals that are equally as large;P

Did other police officers who died in the line of duty get the same treatment and media attention?

Not a fucking mark that thinks he can skip the education part of life and go on to be hero of the ghetto streets by beating teenagers into oblivion and throwing people into six by six cells to discourage further attacks on their "perfect society"
Police officers that actually think they are heroic are ghetto..

yeah...I think the ceremony was remarkable..
I just don't understand how the country can make such a huge deal over this without anyone questioning why and what for?

woah woah X 123456, just because they take your schwag doesn't make them all evil. what about when they solve domestic disputes, or shoot bankrobbers or something.

You sound like a real anarchist :D:

yeah...when I thing about police officers I think about the disgusting ways they deal with crime that is equally as disturbing to me as the "criminals" themselves..it's all organized crime.

imagine a domestic disput that actually got dealt with..
That would involve an educated psychologist or counsellor...not a man with a gun and badge that knows a few good wrestling moves~

No, I was seriously asking, did other police officers who died get the same thing?

Why this? Why now?

:p

We talked about it in class, and it's pretty much the media setting an agenda against weed. Apparently some of the victims' family members are actually complaining to new outlets becaue they're turning it into a whole weed story.

I'm not sure how true that is.

I've never seen such dramatic measures be taken place to acknowledge the deaths of our police officers. But, usually when a police officer dies they do have a memorial with the fellow officers in uniform. The fact that they chose to make such a HUGE deal over these four men, to me, is sort of self righteous. The media IS using these four murders to attract attention to the marijuana industry. Have you been reading articles? Newspapers are filled with this boom of interest focused not on the deaths, but on the grow operation. I watched portions of the ceremony and I don't like how they used the bodies and deaths of four random men to be idolized for political reasons.
It's odd to see such an impersonal show of memorial. If you could possibly imagine how it would feel to have a memorial for your husband of wife that was broadcasted across the country as a political pawn..I'm sure it wouldn't feel right. The murderer was extremely scitsophrenic with weapons that are never found in regular grow operations, it's only natural to question where they're going with this. .
