Terri Schiavo died today
One woman's life has caused so much media attention lately, and after almost two weeks without the feeding tube that kept her alive, she passed away in a California hospice.
READ MORE (snagged from msn news) What's your take on it? |

I think that she should have been left alone.
The media is a bitch. Her parents took it too far, i wouldnt be surprised if they pulled it off as an attempt to grab media attention. If i were in her vegitative state, i wouldnt wanna be kept alive. " but her death did not end the controversy as her parents accused her husband of not allowing them to be present during Schiavo's final moments." See what i mean, fucking bullshit. funny thing.
on the news last night, right after they mentioned something about terri, they mentioned that the pope now has a feeding tube in. they were quick to mention that there are great diffrences between the two cases. nice how they have to point things like that out. |

I think that it needs to be noted that Euthanasia involves a normally quick proceedure in which the patient dies quickly.
Starving someone and letting them die slowly over the course of a week and a half should be considered torture and inhumane. |

^ Yeah but arguably, Dr's have also said she's not capable of feeling pain, but a lot of people wouldn't like to believe that, a lot of professionals would also disagree. The thing is, we don't really have any idea of what she feels/thinks inside. Only she would.
It's not a peaceful experience for her (soul) for her family or her friends to have to wrestle through that everytime they go to be with her. That has to be a bit distressing. |

Starving someone to death with no food or water is purely inhumane. The body is comprised of what like 80% liquid. Being in her condition no one can tell whether or not she was in pain or not because she can't communicate anything out. But I'm pretty sure she was in pain. I can't imagine thinking of vital organs drying up and shutting down on you and what not. Just pure cruel. This is more of a doctor assisted suicide to be quite honest. The fact that she was in a "hospital" type facility with nurses and doctors where the resources were there this should of never have happened. And even if she did want to die based on her condition there are other alternatives. One is using morphine. I know someone who is a military nurse for the u.s army, and he said that in many situation so far in iraq with soldier or civilians that would be severely injured and were die'ing and had no chance for survival yet they were still somewhat alive the doctor would need to make the decision on overdosing them with morphine until they go unconcious and die. Its either that or the person would literally scream in pain to death. Here you got something who can't express pain because of there condition. So what is Michael Shiavo gonna do now? go after the pope and take his feeding tube and oxygen tube out...
