OMG OMG OMG.

13 days till.... BELIZE, HONDURAS, AND MEXICO! woot woot!

This is where i'll be fer an entire week.... I've not been on an airplane since I was twelve and dude, thats a long time ago. I am so excited. I have never been anywhere even MILDLY TROPICAL, and holy shit, they have WARM OCEANS there. I have never swam in warm water in my entire life. Cept in swimming pools of course.

Here it is! check it. It's called The Mayan Beach Garden.

We are staying in solar powered, straw roofed huts RIGHT on the beach in the sand. It's going to be effing rad. There's a mexican family that lives there and started the little resort, who makes all the meals all authentic and stuf.. Should be awesome. :)

Yeah im super stoked fer the take off! Also excited, because since i haven't really hung out with my mom lately, she's taking me on the trip and footing da bill... THAT makes it REALLY tight. I won't be able to go to any clubs while in cancun fer a day, but that's okay, if she wants to pay for it, we can do whatever the fuck she wants! lol.

personally, my ears always pop to the point where i get migraines whenever i take off in a plane, but after that its smooth sailin, i suggest you bring your own headphones so you dont have to buy them on the plane, then again, i dont know in what class you'll be travellin in or through what airline (and what kinda shit they offer you). also, dont be scared of the airplane food, its not nearly as bad as people claim it to be.

if you dont plan to sleep, get a book or magazine to read, playing solitaire will only entertain you for so long. have fun, and i hope you dont get washed up by a mexican tsunami

everybody should know that when you're on a plane and air starts to build up in your ears, you hold your nose, close your mouth and blow.. so the air comes out. you gotta do that often since air builds up fast

anyways ash you're so damn lucky.... that beach looks cooler than any i've ever been to before =)

The last time I flew was 6 months after 9-11, so I was pretty whiteknuckled. Might be flying to Vegas next April, but I also might drive...

Wow thats awesome! try and do as much sightseeing as possible! I spent a couple months in mexico when I was 15 and loved it! Cancun is supposed to be a kickass place and im sure belize and honduras are full of crazy things to do.

Flying is so effing awesome. I cant count on two fingers how many flights I have been on in the last 6 months. Foreign airports are the best. I get this weird rush of energy when im looking for a flight and theres not an english speaking person in sight. Its also really kewl just to sit and stare at everyone at airports. Theres so much emotion in the air. People meeting people for the first time, people leaving people, people getting back from long trips, people going to funerals, marriages.

The 25th we are flying at the ASS CRACK of DAWN to cancun, then we are renting a car and driving to the Playa del Carmen, staying one night, making the rest of the trip the next day to Chetal, which is this little town right before the border. That is where we will spend the bulk of our trip, and then drive back, stay in da playa again, go back to cancun, and fly home, on the 2nd of may...

so 7 days... not nearly long enough i'm sure. vacations always go so QUICK!

Erin and I flew to CR for the first time three weeks before 9-11, then flew back in December, then back to CR and back another five times in the following year... planes get SO FRICKIN' BORING when you're doing 10-hour flights every three months. Houston airport sucks ass!

What was funny was that the first time we went, we were "security flagged" or something, and we were searched by customs in Vancouver, Houston, *and* San Jose, Costa Rica. *After* 9-11, we were never searched again! I guess we didn't fit into the 'terrorist profile' anymore.

What *wasn't* funny was the full military deployment in Houston airport (incidentally, "George W. Bush International Airport"). Troops in camo fatigues with armor and M-16's, standing guard next to the metal detectors...
