Mind The Gap

the tube (subway) in london is famous for "mind the gap".
and for good reason.
some of these gaps are large enough for a small child to slip throu.

I went two summers ago. Even the asylum seekers were complaining how it was eerily beginning to look like back home.

ps. avoid Brixton

I don't think so. Stuffing themselves into cargo containers seems to be in vogue now, so maybe sniffer dogs at every port

I was in London, last October.

The 2nd "hotel" I looked into, in Earl's Court (my old neighbourhood), had a BIG picture of Whistler/Blackcomb covering the front of their check-in desk.

When I asked him WHY they had that up, he said they got a lot of Canadians staying there.

What are the odds?

I stayed there, because he offered me a great deal. Better than some of the others in the area.
What a _DUMP_!!!
It was only one night.

PS
I grabbed one of those "Mind the Gap" t-shirts!!!

Frosty
(missing London)

spent five days in Hackney in January, with the intention of seeing if the girlfriend and I wanted to move to London.

we came back to Vancouver and bought a house on Main.

central london is great, but too expensive compare to vancouver.
we went to knightsbridge yesterday.
discovered that the average narrow run-down looking house in the area
cost ~2 million pounds. (4.5 million canadian dollars)
the good looking ones are 4 million pounds and up.
