i heard that Shout it Out had alot more candy kids than we have here at the mainland..

that could be another possible reason for the increase of party books on the island..

ill have to go investigate further the next chance i get to party on VI.

I always have at least a notepad on me for getting numbers, but I also try to bring my book with me too. But my thing is I always forget to get people to write in it nowadays. Too drunk to remember perhaps.. lol
I've got a few old party books- some very interesting things have been written in em, as well as some really strange/dumb things. Ah the memories..

LOL i have a couple. one was more of a scrapbook, the other was more of a "here write down your thoughts for me while you're under the influence," kinda book. both have pictures and both are funny to look back on. id be way too embarassed to bring one to a party now, but back then it was interesting. some of the things written in that book are illegible, but still hold memories. plus, people arent as friendly now as they used to be, and most the people at parties are nasty hooches in booty shorts that make out with their girlfriends for attention. eew.... hahahh the guys love it im sure though.... i just think its funny.

ps: i also stopped parting for a lot of years and thats when my books stopped. i go to a party here and there now, but they're mostly massives. even the tickets and flyers arent as creative as they used to be. thats what made me want to keep them. i used to have a crate full of old flyers! ... of parties i did and didnt go to. the ones that i didnt go to i just kept for the artwork. its just not the same anymore.

Yes I deffinatly saw a lot of candy at Shout compaired to Vancouver and I did notice a few books or atleast notepads being passed about.

^^ Proof once again that the Island is about 2 years behind Van...

I remember seeing full-on candykids wander the streets of Victoria back in 2001, when such a thing in van was pretty unheard of...

Christ, we just got electroclash last summer.... And Invader Zim made its first appearance around a year or two ago...

The cool thing about it being 2 years behind is by the time it gets to the island, the stuff we do get is the best of it.
