Looking for some comments, critiques, ect

On my site I had to build for myself. www.leededrick.com

The idea is for a simple yet informative site. I know it's alittle lacking in actual content at the moment but the interface and layout is set.

I was wondering what you gots think of it, anything you think I could do differently, maybe some ideas.

PS - It has a useless little feature down in the bottom right corner that I decided to add. It's kind of neat but pointless at the same time lol

I just noticed a nice flaw. My resume and Bio Text doesnt keep the font I used. So it looks completely different on someone elses computer..sigh

okay, gonna be honest here. i think its pointless use of flash. there is nothing there that can't be done in HTML and avoid the use of a plugin. that said, i'm guessing this is for a course you're taking and i had to make sites just like it for the course i took. is the resume in xml or an external txt file? i had to do the same thing and i've seen so many clones of this same site. honestly, i'd add something to it to justify the use of flash, even if its some subtle animation in the background or a logo or something.

try embedding the font. you'll lose a little quality but the font will be consistant on all computers.

I've been think of adding some tweens. I prefer using Flash over Html simply because I have more experience using flash. My resume is a Dynamic Text Field in Flash which is why it didn't keep the same font. All my other text is fine because it is Static but because my Resume is scrollable I lose my font

I know nothing about flash and very minimal things about HTML....
but I think its visually appealing, but that bio of yours needs some spicing up... then again thats just the english teacher in me.

A few other things. That picture on you bio. Get rid of it. It dosen't make you look professional at all.

You wrote your whole resume in the first person, which is bad news in my opinion. Hobbies, take that out, first off, most employers don't care too much for that, and second, in your resume it looks like something someone in grade 2 would write for their "what I did over the summer" essay.

In fact rewrite the whole resume, from scratch. It needs major work.

employers do like to know what your interests are.

the author of this thread should change the word 'hobbies' to 'interests'.

Resumes for the Gaming Industry are a Bitch to write. Until I have my proper resume that one will be up there..Ill fix it in the next couple days.
