40 midgets VS a lion

Well, I'm certain some of you have run into this article, but I thought it would be fun to ask this question.

Well, a couple of months ago my friend told me of a story he read on the BBC about a Midget Fighting League from Cambodia taking on a lion and losing. It drove me nuts (literally).

I searched for the article, and found it, but to my dismay(and relief, I guess) it was fake.

Well, now I've run into it again. After discussing with some other people, there seems to be a split. Some people favor the midgets, some people the lion. So I ask you.

In a fight between 40 midgets and a lion, who would win?

Here are the parameters of the fight:

* Fight takes place between 1 full-grown, male African lion and 40 midgets
* The midgets are unarmed (no guns, baseball bats, tasers, etc.)
* The fight takes place in a closed arena (a racquetball court for example)
* Fight is over when either a) the lion is dead, or b) all 40 midgets are dead or unable to fight back (severely wounded)
* Lion is highly agitated, midgets know there's no way out until the lion is dead (they have to fight)
* The midgets are not specially trained to fight (not like the Cambodian fighting ones in the article) but are in average physical and mental health
* The midgets are given 5 minutes before the fight to prepare/strategize

erm, I already mentioned in my original post that the article was fake. There's even a link to the proof.

Although, I was fooled at first, when my friend first told me about it.

law of average states that out of those forty midgets there would be one who could make a useful strategy to kill it.

The law of "Lions are fucking scary" states that it's damn hard to calmly come up with a plan for taking down a Lion when it's charging at you, or to properly execute a plan you came up with ahead of time.

i'm pretty sure those forty midgets weren't just caught and then thrown to the lion like some christian. they were debriefed on their situation.

Besides what plan can there be that doesn't involved a good chunk of the 40 midgets acting as decoys (Re: SACRIFICES) in order for the rest to get the upper hand on the lion when he's distracted?

Next question: If you were one of the midgets, would you volunteer for that role??

I don't know about that Erik, midgets are bulky little fuckers. I'm going to say 4 midgets per gazelle, for a total of 10 gazelles to be the equivalent of 40 midgets.

i'll admit that lions are fucking scary. you won't see me charging at one unless i had thirty nine midgets with me.

discipline takes over man! if those midgets are given some proper Time to get some discipline then that lion is dead.

as for your other question...dude, i'm not an idiot! the general NEVER puts himself in harms way...anymore.

Hmmm... I never was that good at Math so I'll take your reasoning being a Surveyor and all. :)

10 Gazelles would make for a happy Lion.
