There's just too many people that take themselves too seriously. Everyone just needs to chill the fuck out and go there just to Party and enjoy the Music. You know, like Raves were originally meant to be. Not a Meat-Market... if I want to see scantily clad Women I'll go to a Club Night. That and I know at those they'll be old enough for me. :p

when i started raving the majority of people were candy kids, PLUR was a well known/used term and raver books were everywhere... and the fun fur! I had some awsome times at the spanish *sigh*

oh at this point its definately because i grew out of it but the reason my interest started declining is because of the lack of raves and change of vibe etc...

i totally agree, it would be nice to have plur & whatnot back, everyone now seems so bitter and jaded, and not to mention, most newbs/candy kids are made fun of and ridiculed, no wonder the scene is what it is today

With the exception of venue availability and the city/cops getting more and more strict on things, "raves" haven't really changed. They've always been the same. You've just gotten older and therefore your tastes have changed.

Tommorow is the last of Hullabaloo.... and let me tell you you want candy kids??? you got it.... All of their parties have been LOADED with candy kids.
It only appears that "hardcore" venue's have all of the candy kids now days....
But ya candy kids will be back sooner or later out here...

I want some Phat pants... seriously. Where do I find some? I don't think they will have a kandy rave or something like that where you have to be dressed up to go in but I would say DoomsNight would be a great occasion to go all kandy'd up.

I really do miss plaza... I had so many good times there. If I didnt go to twisted 02... and met the people that I was lucky to meet my life would be very different now.

that's just it though. The "vibe" hasn't really changed, it's just not new to you anymore. You know what to expect and it just becomes routine. Like you said: "same old shit...u go there... get high dance etc."

When have raves been anything else but music, dancing, and drugs?

Well.. maybe in the late 80s and early 90s when everyone thought they were part of some movement or something...

Kraig I think your only making reference to "legal" parties and how they are run here...
The rave scene dynamic has changed huge over the last 5 years. I remember AgroDave throwing his first party with a bunch of no-namer locals (myself included) with a wacked out flyer and no venue location (until day of) and it sold out. There is NO way that would happen in todays day. People have been spoiled and screwed around too many times in the past and now want to know exactly what they are getting with their money. That is why not many want to take the risk on "underground" parties and they arent around anymore.

As far as what can be brought to change the party scene? Well I think AgroDave was the last one to do anything different at all. Change the shit up. Bring in different styles of talent (not just DJs). His last show had not only DJs, but B-boys from out of town, and a Live painter performing on stage. Also he had a "funfun plur room" setup in the second room which was sick too! Why make a party just djs and sound and lights? That is kinda lame after 20+ times. Its time for the promoter to use their imagination and bring something different and new to the table to keep attracting the people from fading away from the scene if they want to keep it alive.

lots and lots of candy!!! maybe some fun fur fat pants, although theyre incredibly hot... visor, pacifier, bright shirt with something amusing on the front. maybe even die your hair a bright color.

Arms will be covered with kandy.. visor?? Interesting idea :) Have the flashy pacifier... must find the bright shirt... yellow and orange hair WHAAA that's bright lol. Thank god DoomsNight is a little ways away. Last halloween I was Jean Simmons... now kandy raver. :)

That's actually one of the things I was thinking of. E seems to be mostly cut with meth or ephedrine and "back in the day" pills were all lovey dovey MDMA. Maybe that's where the PLUR went? Just a thought

^^^^Sadly kinda true, the 2 most remembered parties as being the best all around time and plur were both at times when there were very good batches of E to go around. (on the island that is)

However, I usually find the people who aren't ripped on E are the ones spreading actual peace, love, unity and/or respect.
