Group of young adults pepper sprayed

VANCOUVER/CKNW(AM980) - Several unruly youths found themselves on the wrong end of a pepper spray can shortly before 2 this morning.

Half a dozen young adults in the late teens-early 20's bracket got into a scuffle at Spanish Banks.

A pepper can was produced and many of the group got a good dose of it's contents.

Ambulance crews gave the victims a good rinse-off and sent them on their way to recover, hopefully at home.

While several police cruisers attended, no charges are contemplated.

all the more reasons why events like these should remain word of mouth and not broadcasted to the rest of world on granville street.

ya dude .. me and martin walked up just as they were leaving.. then they tryed to start a fight with some chick.. it was pretty weaksauce.... barstar assholes like this do not belong at these partys....

anyways... tom u left before i got to play!!!! :P
(martin and i waited till 6am till the cops left and then got up there and ripped shit up!! :D )

I don't think this was a promoted party, blame cell phones and the 'friendster' network. Furthermore, the past 6 weeks (weather permitting) this Spanish Banks party was able to continue without problems, even with the police visits. I spoke to one cop and off the record, he had mentioned that a prior event further south on the beach contributed to its demise.

I heard it was around the range of 1000, but that was just an estimate. Still it was a massive party with 2 stages when Tower Beach partys are limited to under 100 people...

Best memory of that was seeing Sandy Medeiros of the first season of The Lofters at the party.

That and underaged girls wearing spike heels trying to get down the path to the beach at night :)

Tom, so I'm guessing this is a different party than the one at Tower last night?

You're confusing tower beach with spanish banks.

Spanish banks has been going off for weeks with no issues otherwise, partiers have stayed there until 5pm the next day without a problem.

good i'm glad those guys got sprayed in the face. when we saw them walking up they didnt give us a good vibe at all... started yelling "hey that bitch is hot.. ohhh ohhh!" and smacked that chicks ass so hard. man she was pissed.

there was lots of creepies at sb last night for sure. These dudes stopped me and asked if I wanted to drink some of their beer and I was like 'no thanks' and then they all smacked my ass as I walked off it was really weird. Weird vibe there for sure.

i thought it was alright party.. so a bunch of nammers leave and were all like.. there's undercover cops there and if you like homos, that's your party... we're like ok...
got there it was pretty decent only stayed for a bit though..left at like 5.. saw all the cops and the paddy wagons come.. haha i was like meh, good luck ppl.

So glad to see so many of you peeps out too! As for those gino blokes who kept trying to start very un original conversations, ass slapping, and potential groping... Ive got a shit load of flyers and tickets to sell to you next time you dont know how to take a blunt hint of GO AWAY

Hope everyone made it out safe... pretty sticky situation of either get your car towed or risk getting fuct at the raod block. No more than 2 drinks ever again when driving.

Nice to hear you kids started the party again, wish I could of been there to hear veni and martin. I beleive the party is still going on right now as this afternoons boat cruise was wanting yet ANOTHER after party and taking the gear down there... but I really need to give up now :P

See good things happen when you can be smart/civil about it :)
