anyone with nose rings...

I got my nose pierced like a month and a half ago and everything was going fine untill like 2 weeks ago when I got a bump right beside the jewlery on my nose I still clean it every day to try and make the bump go away I dont know if it's infected or not, cause one of my girlfriends told me her did this all the time and that it'll just go away and to keep cleaning it. Its been 2 weeks and it doesnt look to be getting any better. It only looks worse.
Any help would be awesome.

I don't have a nose ring, but I know enough that it is infected. I have had friends who have gotten this and actually had to go get an oral antibiotic to get the bump to go away. One friend had to get her ring taken out in the ER as the bump grew over the ring. I would suggest going to the people who pierced you first, then maybe your family doctor. I assume your doctor would probably tell you to take it out completely.

If you continue to clean it properly and regularly as told it should go away. But if it's infected you should go back to the piercing place and see if they suggest an antibiotic.

If you can bear a lil pain, keep squeezin it real hard whenever you wash it.. it may or may not work I can't guarantee.. but I was developpin a bump/swelling in my left ear so I kept squeezin it real hard when I cleaned it, and it completely went away within a couple days.. looks perfect now.

STOP CLEANING IT!

I've had my nose pierced for 7 years and have multiple piercings. Constantly cleaning it can cause irritation. Just leave it alone..it should go away. Its very possible that its just a pimple or something. If it starts to hurt really bad, or turn bright red..see a piercer. If you cant do that.. get some neutrogena unscented soap and give it a little clean. Good luck.. But im sure its nothing serious so dont worry too much ;D

ive had my nose done for over a year and this is my second time around. if i were you just run into the piercing place and check it out. its better to do that than end up with an infection.

i have the same thing goin on.
i went back to my peircer - he said it was from over cleaning and was like a a very deep zit. he popped it for me, it hurt more then the peircing, and went away.
but now its come back, twice (as i have popped it myself) and im returning to my peircer either thursday or friday to ask him whats up.
i have heard of alot of ladies gettin the same problem. im assuming that mine keeps coming back because im doing the cardio-core boot camp and am sweating alot from working out and my nose probably just doesnt like that.

ill post what he says when i find out.

that happened to me too, i just stuck a needle in it a sprayed it with h2ocean. probably not the best thing to do but it went away and hasnt come back.

I called the piercing place and he told me to come in tomorrow or friday but I work both days so I have to wait untill this weekend, but he told me it's probly because Im using to much sea salts, but I dont use sea salts cause my piercings dont heal with it they get infected. ARG! it's stupid!

haha you guys are hilarious:D surprisingly i've heard alot about this "bump on the nose". i think you should try the squeezing thing then if that doesn't work got back to the piercer.

What ARE you using to clean it? If its bactine (since you said youre not using sea salts) then it might be just as irritating. do listen to the piercer, but if what they say doesnt work, try contact solution if you havent already. ive passed on this advice before to others, but ya... when my industrial was inflammed (looking infected) i went to a different piercer than my reg place (fr sake of location/convenience) and they said contact solution, since it is such a low level saline that its gentle enough for your eyes, but still cleans. you can use it atleast 3 times a day and it wont irritate your piering and usually does a really good job of cleaning and clearing it up. *If thats what youw ere already using to clean it regularly than I gues this isnt much help lol. Alright well it's been a while and my nose ring hasn't healed or anything but it's been fine, then a few days ago another one of these fucking bumps pops up. I went to the piercer and asked him to chane my jewlery cause I want to put in my gold nose stud and he said he couldnt. So Im harsh pissed I want this to heal, so today Im going to a diff piercing place to see if they will change my jewlery and Im hoping that will make a diffrence.

^it will cost u money anywhere u go if u want the them to change the jewlery, I had a kaltoid on my nose too but it went away and it has not returned, I squeezed all the goopy shit it out as well as cleaned it more often

you know I had a bump too. It totally went away when I started using ebson salts. You put it in a glass and blow bubbles with your nose for like 2 min. Do this 2x a day and it will go away. The thing that I didn't realize was that the bump was coming from an infection inside my nose. Not on the outside. I don't think that the jewelry is the problem. Howver good luck today if they do change it :)
