Finally getting my tatty started!!!!

Awwww hell yeah....... 7yrs in the making and I'm finally getting her started this Saturday! I've booked my appointment for the 1st session of my new tatty! I'll have to get it finished up in about a month from now after session 1 heals up right proper.

I'm so bloody excited!!! I guess I should explain what the tatty is though.....

WELL... it's a tribal type 'S' and it's going on my right shoulder. The piece itself is going to look like it's about a 1/4inch piece of metal that's actually riveted on to my body with the barbs digging in and clutching my skin. It'll run about 8" or 9" long and about 4" wide or so. The rivets will actually be in the fat parts of the curve and bevelled down to make it look like they were really pressed in. GAH!!!! Best b-day present ever!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure a few people will recognize it...... I'm not so much getting it for the reason you might think. The fact that it's my initial is what seals it for me.

Yeah it'll have a metallic look to it but we're gonna play with a little colour though... prismatic light effects mostly and a little bit of red highlighting where it's clamping on to my skin....

wow 7 years in the making.. that is going to be totally f*ckn worth it!! :):) I think that it is definetly really important that you absolutely want your tattoo before you get it. I know I know it's common knowledge but I got my first one when I was 15 and now I totally hate it. Good thing that it's easy to cover up!! Anyways good luck with it and congrats!!

PS - it only hurts for the first like 30 secs and then from there it's this amazing tingly sensation.:363: ENJOY!!!

This isn't my first tat so I'm well aware of how it feels.... it's not so bad. :)

The longer you're in the chair though the worse it feels. When you first get started your body is produicing endorphins which happen to be a natural painkiller..... once those things start to wear out though... the pain comes!

oh cool!! yeah sorry I didn't mean to make it sound like I totally knew what I was talking about. The longest that I've ever sat for a tattoo is about 2.5 hrs. I find that the worst part about the tattoo is the outlining of it.

How many other ones do you have? :)

Only one other so it's not like I'm an expert or anything myself. I have a lot more planned though.... but budgeting for these sorts of things is a bitch especially when you still have to make a mortgage payment and plenty of other bills.

worth it for sure..... but still a pretty big expense.

Gonna have to try and get some pics of this to post. The final design ended up a little different than up there but my god this thing is so money!!!

I just have the outline done and I'm going in for colouring in a few weeks. It's huge too.... easily almost 10" long by about 6" wide.
