poultry is farmed just like any other food resource. not to say that unethical treatment is okay, but its basically a business trying to maximize profit. also, dont think you're off the hook (not directed at you, but in general) if you're vegan because the ethical treatment of farmers kinda totally sucks too.

there are SO many things around you that you could boycott if you really looked into the inner details of how they're manufactured or where they come from, from food to electronics to clothing.

the best part though is how you refuse to accept that other people dont agree with you, and instead of presenting more valid points you say they have "no conscience" or "dont care about humanity"

asked, what would you recommend the children do for a living if they took away the sweatshops, being it is pretty much their only choice of employment and their parent(s) can't work due to illness and what not

and, improving conditions relates to every aspect of their job.. such as, "normal" hours, an actual wage, getting paid, breaks, proper ventilation, etc.

Sorry, i know this'll be a bit long...

Anyone watch the Passionate Eye? There was an episode on about a week ago called Frankensteer and it was about the treatment of cows in Canada. I would highly suggest watching it if you're interested to know what's in the meat you're eating. It doesn't talk too much about chickens, only stating that they're being treated pretty similarly. So KFC may be cruel to their chickens, but eating most other chicken is also about as bad. Maybe boycotting KFC will give you a peaceful conscience but will it really do much? Maybe you should focus on exactly WHO you are supporting, rather than just eliminating one option.

No you don't need to become vegetarian, but if you care, try to make a conscience decision in who you're giving your money to. You can buy free range, organic animal products and support local farmers. Not only is it better for your health, but eventually if people put their money towards these more ethical foods, then one day they could eventually become the norm, and therefore become cheaper.

(and i think KFC is disgusting anyways)
