How much _thought_ do you put into Xmas gifts?

It's interesting to see how much people are willing to spend on buying gifts for people at the holiday season.

I just thought this tangent deserved it's own thread.

I spend much more time thinking about _what_ to give to someone, than actually considering the price.

Often, the best gifts don't end up being too costly.

How do you decide on what to give someone?

Usually, I spend about a day or two, pondering (off and on) about the person, and what their state is, at the moment. I try to get stuff/things to enhance where they're at. Often I give presents of "experience" (ie: aromatherapy, cinema/theatre tix, etc).

Frosty
(Just curious about that aspect of Christmas giving)

I love giving presents that are kinda personal, such as burning a CD for a friend along with say a box of chocolates or a bag of their fave candy. Y'know, that kinda thing. It's all about the personal touches I think. :) I'd love to be able to afford big gifts for all my closest friends but since I can't what the gift may lack price-wise it more than makes up for it creatively and heartfelt-wise.
