What I don't get is how there is even a question that independent James Green had an effect on the final results of this election. The most votes any other independent got was around 600 or so.

Now that there is evidence supporting the fact that Sam Sullivan was in some way, shape, or form involved with the independent James Green just makes things fishier.

If there is even a slight chance that the results were skewed they should definitely hold a 2nd vote for the city with only Jim and Sam on the ballot. The fact that we're stuck with the NPA in power for the next 4 yrs is bad news.

I don't really care about the vancouver mayoral race or anything but it ceases to amaze me that you have 4000 people stupid enough that they know who the fuck there voting for..... Yep it was a democratic vote... the people vote for the person that they have choosen.... and if they don't know there candidates name properly then they should of thought about it twice before voting...
I mean really come on now people, if your unsure as to who it was then they do have people that would be able to tell you who the candidate was over at the polling stations.... Besides from what I understand they had jim greens party name below his name so it wouldn't make things complicated.....

Your hold on politics is weak at best. There is no point including all the independents... the people that chose to vote for them will most likely not vote at all. The race is between the top two and that's it.

As for voting for James Green.... what can you tell me about his campaign that would convince you to do so? Or are you talking out of your ass? Just because it was close in Delta means nothing for the city of Vancouver.

I can make assumptions all I like. There is no way in hell that having a Jim Green and a James Green didn't confuse some voters. I'm willing to say they may not have been the most educated voters if they couldn't figure it out but the fact remains that it undoubtedly had an impact.

Neither James Green, nor Sullivan for that matter, deny their relationship. The fact remains that Sullivan helped out Green. Do you really think that Sullivan didn't realize in the back of his mind that this guy would split the vote up a little bit? That's exactly why he helped the guy out.

im not arguing there relationship at all, and if you can make assumptions so can i. I stated what happend last time when i lived in Delta, so why cant it happen in Vancouver, Do you even live in Vancouver? Could you even vote here? Im just wondering. I mean when i thought about who to vote for yes i did vote for one of the 2 top candidates, but fact still is, wether or not its mainly between them, there still are other ppl and those people get votes to, i just find it odd How jim Green can basically call vancouver stupid and think they are all not knowing how to read, they should know the party if they are voting for it.
Im not saying i have any hold on politics at all, my opion was based on MY view from what i heard and Read, And how i voted, im not trying to argue any technical thing and digging in to it like you, im just viewing my opinion

He didn't call Vancouver stupid... he called 4273 people stupid. In all fairness, if any one of those people really meant to vote for Jim Green then they deserve it.

I guess it's one of democracy's greatest downfalls.... even if you're stupid you still get a say. You should have to pass an IQ test or soemthing before you're allowed to vote! hahaha

^It doesn't mean we can't vicariously live your pain.... on top of that, regardless of where we live the running of the city of Vancouver has impact on us all. I work in Vancouver, I play in Vancouver.

Sam sullivan did a lot of PR with the Chinese community which 14,000 out of 17,000 voted sullivan. He speaks cantonese too apparently.

I voted for Jim, and I'm disapointed he didn't win. As I said before in my rant a while back though no one is to blame except COPE/Vision. A very small amount of people attended a very poorly organized meeting that led to the split (less than 200). Then with divided resources and efforts the NPA's big $$$ machine rolled over them. Better luck next time I guess.

As for some confusion over James Green versus Jim Green that's no surprise to me. The NPA is known for dirty tricks, it's the norm not the exception with them.
