Joe Thorton Trade

I never thought Boston would trade Thorton after losing so much from free agency. But I guess they had to do something since the team was in the pits. I think this trade will give San Jose some jump, they already had a pretty good team just a slow start.

San Jose got the better of the deal in my opinion.

Yes both teams got good players. Yes Sturm is an alright player, and Brad Stuart too but Wayne Primeau? I think not.

and their real problem LIES IN DEFENSE AND GOALS AGAINST.

Heck until tonights game against colorado Boston had more goals for 81 than the Canucks, but they have let in 92 goals against so they trade away Thorton for more offense?

Oh yea San Jose on the other hands neeeds goals and they get Thorton. Very smart move on their part they got somethign to improve an area they need to improve 62 goals for is brutal.

81 goals for is not brutal for the Bruins

I thought something was going to happen with Boston, but not a blockbuster like this (my initial thought was that the coach would be fired). Oh well...SJ will be rockin' it up with Marleau.

San Jose Scored big in this deal the players they gave up r good but not as good as thorton who make an instant impact, what was boston thinking? i guess they wanted to shake things up a bit show that no one is off limits and i think a change of scenery will be good for all involved except for Primeau it hasn't work before y would it work now?

I wish the Nucks could have tried to get him. he woulda made the big line unstoppable and we coulda gave them a better trade than San Jose did. Morrison is a hard worker and hes pretty good end to end, but he's not 1st line centre material (one thing nucks don't have) oh well
