He coughs up the puck around 3 times a game.
ALMOST as bad as Igor Ulanov in Edmonton.

remember the edmonton game. - first goal was because of jovo's giveaway.

When I see an opposing team get an unasisted goal on the sheets - i presume jovo gave th epuck away.

and you think it's just between a couple people that thinks this?
listen to 730 or 1040 some time...

Excuse me sir, but if you have not noticed, how often do you hear the words "Baumgartner coughs up the puck at the blue line and *opposition team name* breaks out on a 2 on 1 rush the other way!"? Hardly ever. Fact is, Nolan Baumgartner does all the little things in corners and whatnot, I hardly see this guy mess up, well, at least not as bad as Jovo. Nolan is a solid D-Man all around, and it's those little plays he does that make him good. Sure he may not have the points, but who cares! He works hard every shift.

Okay....let's think about it for a second here in a neutral emotion:

He is a real defencemen, he just has to fix the errors he makes, otherwise he is one of the top d-men in the league. He is number 12 of all defensemen in Points(25), he is tenth spot in Assists (20) amongst NHL defensemen, but 24rth spot in goals (5). He is a MINUS (-5) in the Plus/minus category right now, unlike Nolan Baumgartner who leads the vancouver d-men with a +5 rating.

Realistically, we have a good defense. The situations that the canucks need to resolve are:
a)Stop fumbling the puck at the blue line
b)shoot more often and harder at the goalie from the blue line, especially on the PowerPlay (Example Bryan Allen during the Oilers game)
c)cover your check properly
d)BLOCK MORE SHOTS!

you are either really smart, or really dumb. The goalie's job is to stop the puck from getting into the net. The defensemen's job is to prevent the puck from getting to the net. It is the part where he mistakingly allows chances for opposition to get to the net that hurts his reputation right now.

correction: it is Crawford's time to wake the fuck up and make some line changes and coach his players better. Nonis' job is to make sure Crawford is doing his job properly. It is Marc's job to tell Nonis what players need to be moved if they are not listening to his coaching. And it is Nonis's job to fire Marc crawford if his coaching is ineffective on the overall canucks performance. I, myself, am very content with Marc and his coaching staff doing a good job for the Canucks organization.

I one hundred percent agree with you. Fact is...we were scoring lots, and so was the opposition...need I say our goaltending is not good? I think Auld cannot handle the workload right now. We need an experienced goalie who has played consistently over many games played in a row. Time to make a move and bring in a veteren netminder. Auld needs to challenge a goalie for top spot if he wants to improve his game. Right now, he is too comfortable, and passive. Hence why so many goals are scored on him.

Hahhaha yeah, thanks for the bad karma McNasty "Why isn't Nolan Baumgartner on Team Canada?" Man, you totally did not get the point of my second to last post in this thread, and so you should go ask Wayne Gretzky and company why Nolan is not on the Team. Maybe it's because Jovo, and other defensemen in the NHL have more points than B.Gartner? Could it be Jovo is a faster skater? Could it be that Jovo has more experience in the NHL than B.Gartner? I am speaking in a neutral emotion by saying mostly the strong points of each player. So take a chill pill and relax. :mexitoke:

Jovo is just a flashy player who scores lots of points for a defencmen and he can skate well to get back in the play.

especially when he is getting picked for the NHL all star game its solely based on his points.

Ohlund is the better player defensively anyways, and thats what should be the most important, points for a defencemen should be secondary.

Here's a better question why wasn't Paul Kariya on team Canada. Considering he is playing pretty decent hockey, not to mention it never hurts to have a really fast skater who can score.

Or whatever happened to Eric Stall. I think Stall deserves a spot on team canada more than Doan, Kris Draper and yes even Jovo.

Kenji, here is the answer I heard from Tambellini...Bertuzzi is a big power forward, he has the strength and is hard to move from his spot in front of the goalie.

How many players can take the punishment in front of the crease and basically not budge? Bertuzzi. I think Bertuzzi is a skillful players, but he also has his weaknesses (like skating around like a ballerina too much sometimes <---this is called an opportunist on the ice). Besides his 34 points, and second to behind Naslund (40 points) ranked 18th spot in NHL forwards for points, I think Bertuzzi is still one of canucks top players no matter how you look at it. Do I think he is payed the money he deserves? No. I think he should be producing more...expecially with his contract.

So Paul Kariya...why is he not on "the List" is because he is too small, and does not have the size that Canada needs to tower over the americans and europeans. Just remember Wayne Gretzky in his Ford commercials...they promote their big trucks...so, with that in mind, Wayne wants a "BIG" Team...and Kariya is a tiny mouse (with speed). And Bert, when he skates, he can skate pretty fast too (especially with his 240 lb plus weight).

oh, I had no clue canucks were playing until after I posted...then I wondered who could be.......and then I realized that maybe there is a game on (like I almost did not care about the canucks after their 0-5 record last 5 games). :(

I never said I didn't think Bertuzzi deserved to be on team Canada I fully believe he should especially since he is playing at the peak of forms right now.

but i think at least Eric Stall should have been on team Canada common man, Kris Draper, Shane Doan?>

No Eric Stall with 51 points and 26 goals?

and yet Shane Doan with his 27 points and -9 rating deserves to be on team Canada?

Okay, so after the Canucks win over the Preds, these guys here (who yes, are going to the Olympics) did most of the damage :)
