Whatever man. Shambhala is what it is. What it will be, unfortunately, nobody knows. Not me, not you, nobody. But don't let it be unsaid that every good thing comes to an end, eventually. You guys can cling to the hope that every year it will be as magical and captivating as the previous... but seriously, just because they're putting a cap on the crowd doesn't mean that it's going to improve the quality. If anything it means that it's no longer such an exclusive only-those-who-can-make-it-can-go sort of deal. Means it's hit critical mass. All that's left is for everything beautiful about it to get destroyed.

What used to be a weekend of hippies camping on a farm is going to become the NEXT MAJOR SENSATION that EVERYBODY NEEDS TO GO TO. Fuck, I remember when the raver forums were filled with people who would say stuff like "Ew, Shambhala, who wants to party with a bunch of hippies?"

Just because they put a cap on how many people are getting in doesn't mean that it's going to keep the annoying ignorant masses from coming.

As for posts two days after shambhala, WELL DUH. The post-partym buzz lasts a while. But there's no way to justify it at the halfway mark except that it's overhyped. At any rate, I really don't see that much longer before Shambles becomes nothing-more-than-people-getting-fucked-up...

Not saying it most definately is going to happen this year. When you're making guesses you can really only go from probability.

But what I will say is that it _WILL_ happen.

There are countless music festivals around the world. Frankly, Shambhala is pretty weak compared to a lot of the other ones, but it's the best we've got in BC.

Burning Man is just one of many. Coachella's another big one on the west coast. If you really wanna see a big gathering, I recommend you check out the Fiji Mountain Music Festival.

I dont see what the big deal is about people getting hyped for an event. Ive been excited to go back to shambhala every years since i first went 4 and a half years ago, and believe it or not the party hasnt sucked yet. Its not just about getting fucked up and partying your balls off (though, that can be part of the fun ;)). Its about getting out of everyday city life with a group of your best friends and enjoying, for a moment, the fact that you dont have any responsibilities except to boogie down in the woods.

Its like the light at the end of the tunnel of normal everyday shit, except the lights are really trippy, youre with all your friends, in the middle of nowhere and you dont give a shit. Shambhala for my friends and I (ala sean!s post) is an outlet for us to come together, and no hype is going to ruin that.
