But in any event, do call and check. No offense, it would be my first reaction instead of asking on FNK. And so you know, if you are not at your full discount, and the time when you would renew your license has passed, you can phone and get them to adjust your insurance to reflect that. i.e. - if the date you got your DL was April 25th, you could phone and they would adjust your good driving discount bearing in mind that you are entitled to it. You can only do it once per license plate. So if you want to be entitled to that loop hole every year, you would have to get new plates, which can be costly. |

sounds like a mistake they made... what u can also do is call your bank and ask them to stop payments till u figure it out and make sure they don’t over charge u again.. There should be no reason why they raise the price up without notifying anyone.. that’s fraud..
for one for another, i work at Vancity, and we offer auto insurance. Now, liability insurance has to be through icbc, but any other insurance, we offer at better rate and /or beat the price. we are the 2nd company in BC to offer private insurance. for some reason not so many people consider private insurance to save money... if u anyone needs more info, i got all the contacts, pm me.. honestly you could save money and does make difference / year |

As with any creditor, it is an extremely bad idea to stop payments to them for incorrect billing. ICBC is very strict with their Autoplan 12 and as such, after two missed payments, that is it, they do not extend that priviledge to you anymore. Any credit counsellor will tell you, NEVER EVER stop making payments. If there is a discrepancy with your billing, you should either make an arrangement, or pay the minimum payment. As for private insurance, it is definately cheaper. Leaps and bounds for that matter, but the issue is, they are not as generous as ICBC when it comes to claims. My parent is a claims coordinator for a company, and as a rule, ICBC allows more time/money to repair vehicles, and give out more money for injury claims. |

^ actually they only raised it by 6 or 6.5% in march.. not 10. also that doesn't apply until you renew your insurance.
the reason i asked fnk was because i noticed it around 7pm, when the auto plan places are close. also not to mention, the amount that it was over was pretty low, so i'm not super worried. it is my last payment for this year (i renew in june), and it's my first year having insurance, so i wasn't sure if that just happens or what. i've thought about private insurance, but i've heard some pretty shitty thigns about the amount of time they take to deal with things, as opposed to icbc. i don't care so much about drawn out claims, but when it comes to the actual car repair.. that's a bit of a downfall. and i wish i could pay $180/month. geez. i pay $260, after a good discount and no accidents. fucking two door cars. |
