I find it interesting that amidst times when we see so called leaders of state responsible for millions of deaths, hundreds of millions of injuries, war, destruction, social fragmentation, poverty, racism, and complete and utter fear, YOU illicite probably one of the most venemous, intense, extremely infrequent and colorful responses....about a African American deadbeat??

Pressing news? I dont think so. Unless of course you are trying to say, that this instance is indicative of a larger issue. Of which I would reply, is only one more example of the planned, and organized attack/smear on/of poor/working class african americans in New Orleans, who where on the bottom rung when it came to receiving aid similiar to the upper/wealthy class of caucasian citizens living in New Orleans.

And it should be mentioned that this article is in New York magazine no less! A pillar of objectivety, relevence and a far ranging demographic of content.

Did you hear about the homeless person who stole a can of cambells chunky soup, and smelled liked urine in a local New Orleans department store!!!!??? The nerve of him!! We should bulldoze him with a street sweeper, and then hang him from his balls and kick soccer balls at his face!!! YEAH!!!

fable, first off I could care less that he's African American, time and time again YOU bring the fact some one is a minority up. Whether black, white, asian, native... what ever colour his skin may be, it's his actions that anger me. He was offered a flighthome and given $9000 in aid, but rather than make any use of it, he blew it in a couple of months onalchohal and partying, then decided rather than look for work, he'd simply squat at the hotel, beg for change once in a while, and accept free canned goods form the church. When questioned, he thought FEMA hadn't given him enough money, and that they 'ought to give him more'. My problem, fable, is the help given to those who do not wish to help themselves. This man is a burden on society, drainign energy from those who could be doing really good, and sqaundering the precious gifts he has been given. He should be put down like a common stray dog.

I agree with Fable, this isn’t the story that people should be outraged about. You see this type of diversion in the media all the time.

If you want to talk about what is wrong with humanity in reference to the Katrina disaster there are far better examples of people who should be "put down".
