1. memphis is the futherest thing from a steakhouse

2. the keg is okay for a dinner out when you're not in the mood to cook, but it's no place to take a date, ect (unless you like in abbotsford and it's pretty much your only option)

3. a lot of restaurants will fax a menu if requested

4. i donut know if it's an option but, there are some great butchers in vancouver/granville island and you can pick up 2 decent sized ribeyes (1 inch thick at least) for under 40 bucks and make yourself a nice little steak dinner at home

Now, I'm not sure about steak at this place, although they do have it, but Joe Fortes just down from Robson has amazing food, and their seafood is to die for, I think my mom's friend had the steak and said it was really good. They have fabulous calamari but are slight more high end and a bit more pricey, about 26-35 a plate, but well worth it.

Try looking on the internet for like best places in Vancouver, you might be able to find some places that people go to regularly but aren't necessarily known. Good luck and I agree with you on the Keg, overprice average food makes me feel like shit when I eat it.

Gotham is all a la carte (don't remember Hy's or Mortons) so you're looking at $30+ for just the steak. Any additional fixins like veggies or potatoes and you're going to have to pony up some more cash.

On an off-topic, does anyone know where to get good steak taretare around here?
Mortons is a la carte as well.

I sat there and watched my family eat many a times. Great fun :(

Gotham is great...same with Mortons. Gotham is fun cause you get to order your veggies on the side, i love their spicy mushrooms!
