so it looks like the lion wins that fight, but i'll admit the bear was on the small side. but the lion was a female too, so at major disadvantage (;)) anyway, i wouldn't underestimate the lion... those claws gotta be killer.

For the record... lionesses do ALL the hunting... lions sit around on their fat asses all day sleeping... humping... eating... and so on. Therefor a lioness would have a much better chance than a lion.

That being said the kodiak would still school the lion/lioness beacause he's immensely bigger and not to mention one swipe and the lil kitty would be a goner. Lioness claws are designed to take down wilderbeast and zebra and other reletively thin hided animals... I highly doubt a lion/lioness's claws could make it through all that bear fur and hide... it would barely do any damage even if it was the most agile cat on the planet (which it isn't).

Cool vid, but there was no contest there... That lion was clearly bigger than that black bear. and black bears are way smaller than Kodiak Grizzlies.

I would say the grace and agility of a Lion the Grizzly makes up in size and blunt force. It would be a good fight, but my money's on the Grizzly.
