Alright.. I need to upgrade my windows and I've tried to bypass the genuine advantage tool.
Looks like MS wins and I'm paying for it.

What're the steps? Should I just get the adantage tool and credit card it to get it authenticated? Or should I just upgrade to vista?

You can call M$ and purchase a license over CC, then it's just a matter of putting in your provided disc key. You don't even need to reinstall.

I use my system for games, porn and DJ'ing.

Ubuntu as sturdy as it is, it's not compatible.

Last I checked you still needed to add the non-free codecs repository manually, didn't automatically install those. That's as of Ubuntu 8.04

My main computer uses:

Microsoft Word
Microsoft Excel
Microsoft Power Point
MP3's
Games

How would reinstalling my OS so that I use completely different programs then I use at work make my life easier?

Linux works for some people, but there is no need for me to learn different software for no apparent benefit (Are the games better on Linux? Is word easier to use?)
