So whos going to catch this new Disney movie staring Kurt Russel? Its about the American hockey team in the 1980 winter olympics.
It was Filmed here! and because starsprite and I happen to be in it!!!!!!!!! its a must see!!! :)

it's supposed to be the best representation of hockey in movie form, froma gameplay aspect, because the cameramen were on skates and actually following the action, unlike most movies.

ill probably wait until dvd though.

i'd be interested, but i don't know if i can put up with the gungho american pride moments that are guaranteed to be as corny as the worst parts of independance day & pearl harbour

but it's hockey so i can give it a chance... no way i'll pay to see ti though

i definitely agree on that! if it was team canada, then hell ya i would go see it. but i'm not gonna see an american hockey movie at the theatre.

you have to give em credit though for their Pride in their country. They just take it a step too far somethings.

I have a friend :284: who lives in Hope and she got to meet Kurt Russel and get his autograph a couple of months ago at the hockey rink. His son was playing in a game there. He lives in Shaugnessy.

Kinda funny. Local "officials" razzed her for bugging Kurt, but he didn't mind too much. Next time she's gonna take a picture (a really bad idea).

Canadians would never make a movie like that.... we're not full of ourselves or pompous enough to do it. I love the way they promoted it.... 'they said it couldn't be done, they didn't believe in us" SHUT UP!!

Every team that has won Olympic hockey gold could have said that at one point or another.... maybe every country that has ever won the gold medal in hockey should mnake a movie! yeah thats it.... how about 'We Spanked Your Ass:' The story of how we beat the US in mens and womens Olympic hockey....

yah, my manager at my coffee shop was one of the Russian players (i forget which one) - he can definitley pull of the russian look though...

and the rest of you, stop fukin whining about "oh no, hockey is canadian, it's OUR game - we're the best at it but we don't have any gucho pride..." - fuck, listen to yourselves you hypocrites - it's just a movie and apparently it's more about the coach (Herb somethin?) than anything else. Just cause they're americans doesn't mean they aren't allowed to play/enjoy/have pride in the game - and i seem to understand they've sort of been part of the game pretty much since the beggining... so give it up. This american team had NO chance at winning the gold and they won which makes a good story.. and according to hardass canadian critics this movie is THE best hockey movie ever made - you see any canadians making any good hockey movies? interesting, neither do i... The anti-americanism on this board sometimes just goes way overboard in all the wrong places.

I just saw the movie. Not bad at all. For a G-rated Disney movie, I thought it had an edgier feel then most.
What can i say jen...great people in a great movie:) lol
