very few spinoff's work. I think the only successfull one to date is Frasier , at large scale ( it's a spin-off cheers before you ask ) .

I might watch it just to see what it's like, but I dont' usually watch any tv shows on a regular basis.

it'll bomb. the premise sounds so cliched it isn't even funny.

joey's funny. as a part of friends. think of him as the arm of the constructicons. cool on his own but not enough to do some serious damage.

maybe if they put chandler in as well...then they'd be forced to throw monica in there cause they're married. and then, ross is monicas sister, so he'll have to come back. phoebe and ross will have hooked up by then so she'll be on the show too. toss rachel (the token hot chick of the show...even though she has MAN JAWS!) in just for colour.

they'll all need a place to hang out, so gunther can stick around too.

I think Joey's actually got a chance of lasting.Here's why. All the recent flops from TV stars (like the entire cast of Seinfeld and their horrible sitcoms) were not spin-offs. The stars were all funny, but not as funny as the characters that made them famous. For example, if Michael Richards kept his Kramer role, I think he would have had a better than shot than going with the disastrous "Michael Richards Show." Yuck. But JOEY--he's smart! He's keeping his memorable character and running with it. Maybe none of us know the first thing about Matt LeBlanc (except he's a total hunk!), but we know and love Joey like he's our brother, so we'll watch. Count me in!
