Silent Hill Vs. Resident Evil

when comparing the two games, i definatly think silent hill has the upper hand in scaryness and puzzle difficulty. sure resident evil has some shock factor...but silent hill is a game that takes ur mind and roughs it up a little bit, its disturbing environments and monsters along with a creepy storyline challenge u to play on ur own in a dark room... i suggest u buy some diapers.
anyone think differently? lemme know what u thought about each game series

They're just different kinds of games.

Silent hill is definitely scarrier, and its puzles are more complex.
Resident Evil is mostly about shooting zombies.

Silent Hill is the ONLY good horror video game in existence. It's the only one that will have you shitting yourself in fear the whole time, the only one that has such a well developed storyline you forget you're playing a game, and the only one that has me playing through it a million times to find every ending.

silent hill is one of the greatest video games of all time, no question.

Silent Hill is "scarier" then resident evil although both arnt scary at all. Their 2 different games and i like them both. This is a toughy

I just played the new resident evil game outbreak

its weird
didnt seem to have much of a story line (I didnt get that far)
but its also a multiplayer which was odd

and you have a variety of characters which have really unique abilities (probably the best part of the game)

haven't touched res evil yet.. but from what i've read, res evil is just on the spot scariness...

silent hill seems to have a continuous spook to it. i thought a bit of the first bit of silent hill 3 wasn't really scary, just disturbing. but holy shit i was FREAKED OUT last nite and today (when you walk into the room full of mannequins) and how some monsters just jump at you when you don't really expect anything.

if you want a game that vies u a "The Ring"-type of scare, try Fatal Frame II.

Silent Hill is totally the scariest thing I've ever made myself play...I think resident evil has shock value but if you're in a room of hot girls who are all scared it can be the best tool in the world...

while silent hill is creepier and more psychological thriller style, i seem to prefer resident evil
