Has anyone played it yet?

I'm waiting for the Mac version to come out next week.

sadly, I have. got boring after 2 hours. then I just killed my family. Good graphics though, was pretty impressed with the details.

Why did you get bored with it?

I don't really play video games and can kind of see myself really liking this one.

the game gets old really quick, unless you have a wild imagination.

i remember a friend making a house with no walls, toilets everywhere out in the open, and beds right next to them, oh yea, and parrots right next to the bed.

and would you believe it that youre not allowed to have a teen living with an adult?

i know there is, but no one every goes in that section and i wanted some quick opinions. the mods will move this post when/if they need to.

i have a wild imagination. i wish i could rent it for my computer for a weekend and test it out before buying it.

I got bored with it because it's so linear. Lots up updates from the last game though, but I guess not enough to get me hooked on it.

The gameplay potential is pretty vast with this game, cause its one of those games where there really isn't an end (unless of course your entire family dies). Designing and building the houses is fun, and your sims can have sex in the hot tub! Be careful though, the game is extremely addictive. I played it for a few days nonstop, and I started to realize that real life was a lot like the Sims... that's when I decided it was in my best interest to delete the game. Don't waste your summer playing vids!

lots of updates and waaayyy cooler things to do as opposed to V1 (hot date, unleashed etc)

i'm going to play it on my laptop when i have downtime during the night shift at the hospital this summer.


i was on a website where you could buy all these really fancy mansions for the game.


there should be a fashion expansion pack for it if there isn't already.

It seems to have more goals and objectives that you can attempt to reach and move your sim along, more detailed events (weddings, birthdays etc)

Keep me posted on what you think, i'll do the same.

I played it, as well as the expansion. If you enjoyed the first sims, then you'll enjoy this one.

I got bored of this pretty quickly, but then again I got bored of the first one. There are some interesting features, but nothing that makes it worthy of the praise or sale's it recieves.

As for the fashion add on's your talking about, there are many sites where you can download the latest fashions (mostly poorly made, but there are a few good ones), on the net.

I am a full-on addict, and I just dont care. I have never liked video games (apart form drunken mario kart-mario party)..but i LOVE this game. I love the designing part more then anything. as said above though, watchout, you can waste *hours* on this game. Everything is much more advanced and, well i cant quite explain it but it never ends. I must sound quite sad, but ever since i found the cheats I cant seem to stop. I would definitly reccomend it if you liked the other sims, something to do on a rainy day(and when you come home too drunk to sleep).

i was living happily building up my skills. everything was going great, but when ashley caught me and mary kate in bed, everything went down the drain.
i also realized i spend a lot of time working out. and this made me sad in the end cause turns out working out in the game did not build my muscles up in real life.

my sister loves it though. i think these kinda games show how organized you are in life. haha which shows why i suck at it so much.

You can! Check out Fantastic Videogames on the corner of Hastings and Willingdon right next to the Chevron. If you're hung up on not wanting to pay for it you can always DL it.... not that difficult :)

this game is fun. you have to want to spend a lot of time playing it and know that some parts of it are repetative. my girlfriend is hooked on it though. she plays it non stop some nights. up till 3:00am usually.
