This is on all day on history channel today, perhaps because tuesday is the anniversary of the invasion of Normandy. Even though i have the dvd set i plan on watching it all day on tv today to.

I agree. Such a good series. Ive been trying to find a box set to pick up. Everytime I watch them they are still just as good!

Ill totally admit. At the start of the episodes where the old vets talk about how it was before the show actually starts. Some of the things they say get to me a little. All that they gave!

No doubt, my grandfather and my great uncle have both told me alot of stories from that time. I'm 22 years old the same age as my grandfather was when he was over seas fighting in world war 2, i can't imagine doing something like that.

My grandfather was a Paratrooper during the war. Thats what orgionally got me watching it when it first came out. He cant watch it, he tears up.
Ive still got his wings he gave me.

I know what you mean. Im 22 as well, also the same age he was (within a year or so). I cant even imagin being in that situation. They did things no one should have to do or go though. He has told me stories that have made me want to start crying right there.
