They use a lot of fillers - their lotion isn't the highest quality, especially the lower "steps". Also, the whole step program is a load of shit - companies only offer these "step 1, 2, 3" lotions so you'll feel inclined to buy different lotions depending on how dark you are. Designer Skin lotions are by far the best - no matter what colour you start off at you can feel comfortable using any of them, and their self tanners won't turn you a gross orange! The only lotions I'd reserve for more advanced tanners are tingle lotions because paler, more sensitive skin can tend to have negative reactions to them. Designer Skin also has a wicked new line of "warming" lotions that don't even tingle but create the same dark tanning effect!

Yeah, I agree with Ashlee. Navy + gold = hot. If it's another blue, stick with silver!

Ahh, OK good to know! The girl I bought it from is my fave at the place I go to. It's the same one she uses, and she doesn't buy into the whole step thing. She doesn't use step 2 bc it turns her orange. She said this one is hypoallergenic, and so far its been very nice to my skin. But good to know for next time :)
