What shoes should I wear with wide-leg pants?

Not bellbottoms, just wide-legged pants, you know, those ones that have kinda come back into style.
I don't want the bottoms dragging on the ground and getting wet, but they look silly with heel boots.

The rule I go by is the skinnier the leg, the more delicate the shoe. So for wide legs i wear clonky platforms :)

I would say wedge heels, may it be boots or shoes, something with a wedge heel is better with wider leg pants. I would say stay away from pointy toe with wide legs, but stick with rounded or almond toe.
