So what are some good titles to pick up?


so far i got gears of war, nfs carbon and bioshock...

any suggestions?

oh and has anyone here played halo 3? is it any good?

If you like online shooters then you'll definitely need halo 3. I haven't touched Gears since i got it

me neither, my friends always come over and play that shit, i'm more hooked on nfs... new one's coming out i hear, i think i'm going to pick it up...

btw my xbox is a halo3 edition i think it'll only be appropriate for me to snatch it

dead rising, tiger woods 08 (i know it's a golf game but its pretty fun), rainbow six, skate...

there's also tons of good classics on the xbox live arcade worth buying..I spent far too long playing Castlevana SOTN on there which is like the best castlevania ever (best soundtrack!) ....I also play tons of puzzlefighter and bomberman.

oh and halo 3 is pretty fun, i normally don't like those kinds of games, but it's a good time killer haha

halo 3, it's in a complete league of it's own.

- bioshock, more like bio crap. decent graphics, but half life did it better.
- NFS, don't buy the new one....... trust me.
- skate, looks good but haven't had much time to play it since halo came out
- nhl 08, best nhl game ever.

halo3 is great because of a huge fan base and continuing story line, but otherwise what is there about it that sets it aside from other first person shooters?

bioshock is comparable to half life, but much more indepth with its story and characters. and the graphics are so awesome. water effects like no other game ive ever seen

however, from a replayability standpoint halo3 takes it since bioshock doesnt have multiplayer

HALO 3 IS GREAT BECAUSE THATS WHERE YOU GET THE BEST MULTIPLAY, ITS A BLAST WITH FRIENDS

BUT BIOSHOCK IS 10x THE SINGLE PLAYER GAME ANY HALO WAS. IT HAS A GREAT STORY, REWARDS CREATIVE THINKING, HAS SOME UNIQUE CONCEPTS LIKE STATS MODIFIERS/PLAYER 'BUILDS', AND IS ONE OF THE FIRST FPS' WHERE IM HAVING A MORAL QUANDARY ABOUT HOW TO BEAD IT, THE 'GOOD' WAY OR THE 'EVIL' WAY.

Halo 3 was good. Just finished the campaign. If you've played the first two halo's expect more of the same. Solid controls, decent story, lots of action.

Bioshock is more of a thinking man's game. Building your character, choices etc. Great background info too, if you want to read more on Ayn Rand, then the story becomes a lot better.

The single player campaign is always the same, a few good levels, a few terrible ones.

sure, having a career path is ok. but custom armor and energy swords are way better.....

on a serious note though, halo 3 looks, sounds, and plays better than any FPS i've ever played (with the exception of CS, simply because it was CS).

I don't really know how you can even create an FPS these days without multiplayer, it's like making cars with manual windows. just fucking stupid.

SOME GAMES CAN STAND ON THEIR OWN WITHOUT NEEDING TO HAVE MULTIPLAYER, SOME GAMES NEED MULTIPLAYER TO SURVIVE, AND THE SMALLEST HANDFUL DO BOTH WELL

regardless on online capabilities or not, a game should at least have some sort of multiplayer, whether it be co-op or deathmatch.

halo3 was awesome...at first. once the covenant is out of the way it kind of sucks. it was too short too. something like six hours...maybe six?
