cool, I too want FNK members to know about FREE evenings which they can attend. specially which host music of your caliber that I also highly enjoy. please do not assume me as some hypocritical mod which would ban or remove your free event. however changing the title or opening a closed forum would require me re-index the website to allow for proper search ability. if you have another improvement(s) for the FNK, don't hesitate to PM me. I don't mind discussing them with you, I enjoy your input.

i once had a thread locked (which I can't find anymore even with the new, improved search engine) which was for an entirely free event (not by you) and a subsequent PM discussion led me to believe this was against the rules. I only brought this up cause i remember recently seeing a post (again i can't find this) where it was stated that it's ok to post free events.

anyway, thanks for understanding :)

I am not against free events of quality music. No mod on FNK should be. However as stated in my first reply this is a free domain for readers and electronic music lovers alike. If you were to be profiting from a free entry event I would think it as somewhat of an abuse of this policy; FNK does not charge it's members but the steadfast promoters who wish to market to them (at a marginal fee). If I was in Vancouver I would surely make it out to your evening, j3rk and I both hold your posted sets in high regard and properly cane them.

^ I find that somewhat offensive. specially in the fact mr.plaza if one of the sole violators of the very respect I have done by best to get across in this topic. FNK was not created with the intention of being a western canada sought after electronic music community but a placeholder for a local Vancouver DJ duo who (as far as im concerned) were up there with the best. it developed into a community, which is what I feel makes it unique. plus my first site was in flash and it took along time. so... shutup!

i can see that to an extent and I will refrain from posting more than extra-special (free) events outside of the pay-per-post system.

this thread = tl;dr . I've posted free events for people in the past in the paid section, all they had to do was forward me the info and I added it manually. This has only happened like twice since we've moved to the new pay system.

IMHO ... i think a better way to go about it for the future would be for the person to post the event in what ever section you guys have decided in this thread...then PM either myles or myself with a link to the thread and ask us to put it up into the paid section.

In the past this has been done for 1 off parties and event. This is a free weekly every thursday at a club. Free weeklies is something i'd like to see more often in Vancouver....so it gets my vote to be added.

PS. I will not add any "free event" which has coperate sponsorship. Like i wouldn't add a BARCARDI B-LIVE event for free. I'd feel like i'm just promoting their booze and not the music.

I'm glad that you decided to post the event Soo. Again, we welcome free events on the site, especially when it's being thrown by a member. Apologies if there was some confusion prior to this process, and I'm glad that's it cleared up.

Just to reassure you and the rest of FNK, events that are open (cover free) to the public will stay open on the site.
