Just because I'm not good at making sales and telemarketing it doesn't mean i'm not going to "survive" there are tons of other areas in which I excel, and because of that I will be successful in whatever I choose to do.

no, those are good qualities, obviously. it was the other stupid shit that lead me to my conclusion. a telemarketer is not sleazy by defintion. there are plenty of honest salespeople in the world, and to say that all are sleazy and have no respect is a ridiculous generalization. it's perfectly feasible that someone could sell a product to someone who actually wants it and would benefit by it. sure, there are sleazy telemarketers (and lawyers, and cops, and mechanics, and etcetera), but to paint all people of a certain profession with the same brush makes you closed minded and an idiot. ok, bye for now.

well when you say TELE-MARKETER, it rings into my head as PHONE-SALESPERSON. a person who calls a bunch of RANDOM numbers and tries to make a buck off them. (the only other profession which has similar working methods as this, IS PANHANDLING)

on a similiar note, people are not necessarily what they do for a living. a person can have any number of redeeming qualities despite their profession. the difference between telemarketing and panhandling is that telemarketers are actually selling something besides pity (and it might actually be useful too!!!).

anyway, my point is that saying all telemarketers are sleazy is a non sequitur and there is no reason to assume that because someone is telemarketing for a living that they in no way contribute to society in other ways. there are honest salespeople, both in person and over the phone.

i'll agree that getting calls from salespeople is annoying, but not that "salespeople are sleazy, period" and "anyone who boasts telemarketing is obviously a selfless turd who takes no pride/has no respect in/for their (or anyone elses) daily life".

like i said, i'm not a telemarketer, i just enjoy playing devil's advocate, especially when people make such general and extreme statements.

Billion dollar company, plus you dont get paid hourly and sit at phones all day. You basically work at your own pace building downlines and expanding your business.

do you know that sales people for exel are told a certain price when they sell to people for example 49.95 for unlimited local, long distance, and say another 10 for unlimited internet, but when people recieve their bill, they are charged insane swiching fees, interstate surcharge fees, inside wire maintenance fee (wether they asked for it or not), and a shitload of other fees and charges (Not including taxes and fcc mandated charges which the govt charges)
say a black lady, living in a ghetto, can ONLY afford 50 dollars after taxes and all, from 49.95, and she is 100% convinced that thats all she's going to have to pay, and recieves a first bill thats almost 100 dollars, she's fucked...
