I'm currently somewhat of a telemarketer and there are deffinitely some pros and cons.

Pros:
Phat pay-checks
I can dress however I want
Lots of hawt female co-workers
I can be drunk/stoned/on E or anything else at work and they're ok with it
Work the hours that I want, rather than when they tell me

Cons:
Boring and repetitive
One of the most hated profesions, second only to lawyers
Bad cafeteria food

Until my life-long dream of becoming a midget-porn-star comes true, I have to settle for second best!

i telemarketed for one day thought it was totally stupid.. they wanted me to go thro the white pages and call every number and try and give away vacation packages :soak:

all the companies i work for are fun i make plenty of cash, and we have free booze parties, i get to do what ever that fuck i want, and i am loving it... and i get to prove to americans that they are retards every day, and i sell them shit they don't need and give them attitude and they bend over and take it from me....

Telemarketing just isn't the type of job I think I would enjoy. It's not about money for me but rather enjoying the work I do and I don't think I would enjoy telemarketing.

prolly cuz they don't accomplish anything in their position, other than make their employers rich and make housewives bitter...

i've never been a CSR or a telemarketer (i'd rather make $8 an hour than do what you phone hoes do), but i was in upper management for a company that had over 100 csr's, and all of them were whiney losers who spent their whole day crying about how someone on the other end of the line flipped them off or something...

fuck... get a real job and do something productive...
working shouldn't only be about the money.
try getting a job that you actually have something to show for your efforts other than "commission"... build a house for someone to live in, or cook some food for someone to eat. don't call someone while they're eating dinner and ask them if they want to switch long distance providers to save a couple bucks...

salespeople are sleazy, period. i don't know how you can sleep at night knowing that your goal in life is to profit off other people's ignorance/stupidity.

anyone who boasts telemarketing is obviously a selfless turd who takes no pride/has no respect in/for their (or anyone elses) daily life.

I telemarketed for two weeks.... worst two weeks of my life
I made one sale the entire time I was there, I don't know why they didn't fire me before those two weeks ended, because I was terrible and I just couldn't do it. I remember crying after one guy yelled at me... and people were just so so rude in general.
The telemarketing I did was to raise money for charities though, so it wasn't direct selling.. the idea was nice but it just was not a job for me.

the chairities get 5% of everything the call center makes... so out of 100 dollars chairities only get 5... haha and you think its a good idea, and why you couldn't sell is because you have no self confidence, and because you are simply too nice...

I'm not a telemarketer, never have been, but for some reason when i tell people i work in telecommunications they assume thats what i do. they go "OHHHHHhhhhhhh. Yeah those people are always calling me. You must have a lot of people saying nasty things to you."

Duh. Telecommunications refers to communications technology ie. telephone, wireless, internet, etc etc. I work for a company that provides these services. does not fuckin mean i am a telemarketer!
