Tattoos
So after about a year of thinking about getting a tattoo i've finally decided on it. For any of you that have tattoos.. any suggestions, comments, advice? Any places that you'd recommend to go to or stay away from?? Thanks in advance!!

i am actually gettin my first tattoo done in about a month for my bday.. and good for u for not wantin it on ur lower back, its is way to overdone.. personally i am gettin mine just above the bra line in the middle of my back.. should b good :)

Fun House tattoos on Cambie and 11th is really good. They will totally take their time with you and make sure that you are happy. Their name is really spreading around within the last few years. Also Sacred Heart has a very good rep for amazing tattoo work and First on Granville. ( They did a few of mine and my boys and my best friends) As for any advice... well it totally depends on where you go as different places will tell you different things. For one of mine, they told me that I could get it wet, just not to scrub the area and also hemroid cream heals it very very nicely. For others, they tell you to avoid getting it wet and only to put an unsented lotion on it. It totally depends.
And a very important part of advice is that you should visit the places that ppl recommend and look throught their books before hand. As you want lettering on your back, some places may be better then otehrs. You have to keep in mind that every artist has there own style of doing things. Good luck! They are addicting :)

thanx for the suggestions giggles. i will definately make a trip downtown within the next day or two and do a walk through on those places. one of my friends mentioned "Adreneline". Any good/bad comments on that place? some of my friends got piercings there but no tattoos. They seemed pretty satisfied with the work done and the place itself but any extra info would be great! i'll definately go there as well.
i thought deciding on a tattoo would be hard but finding the right place seems to be just as confusing. pmmfff. - lil D over and out!

^ Oh and don't mistake his shop with those punks that do tattoos at conventions and places like warped tour out of a trailor... Last time I saw Thomas before he got into his accident he was so fucking pissed off that they ripped him off...
They have the SAME company name as him but I think they are located in North Van not Downtown.

Akeel, Lil Jenna, wtf.. thanks guys. i'll check out those places too. I really wanna find a place/artist that im totally beyond happy with!! so any new place is another good chance of finding that. thanks!!
LiveOnJim - i've heard only good things about the dutchman but the one thing i dont like is the months and months of waiting .. but i guess for great work you gotta wait. i've been in there before (didnt get anything done.. just went with a friend) and their quality of work is unbelieveble. and plus they're in NEW WEST so that would save driving from place to place.
