Cool... wierd... being found by possible relatives?

I recived a msg from someone who also goes by the same last name as me. If you didnt know I beleive my dad and I are the only 2 left in North America and have lost contact with any other reletives who also go by our name. So you can imagin how shocked I was.

Anyways it was so strange talking to this person who was trying to tell my their histroy of what they knew and even a web site with pictures of their familey etc. I dont know if it was my imagination or not, but I could see some similaritys with my dad and I!?!

Its such a weird feeling, but kinda cool as well. Its like were super close but starngers at the same time??? I feel so shy, but want to get to know more about them? What do I say and ask? What are the possibilities of use being closley related?

Ive never met anyone else with the same last name before!!!!

Deffinently mentioned it to dad. He was actualy quite surprised and intrested. We dug up some historical facts to see how far we could go back, but we only got as far as my great great grandfather who was the only one from England before the rest imigrated to Canada. Funny enough they all seem to have the same patterns of names and all seem to originated from the same town/city in England as well.

Id love to one day maybe meet up and get in contact with some more possible contacts... yet the one who msg me is in Denmark. The rest are in England and maybe even South Africa.

I think he was just surching on the internet and came accross my web page. From there I got a request on msn and imediatly accepted when I saw the name :D
