Girls, what do you think about this. I would like to go on the depo shot, But a friend of mine says it could be dangerous. Anyone have any thoughts or experiances from the shot?

it doesn't kill your bones ladies, just take a calcium pill and you're good to go witht he depo.

The depo totally fucked me up. It messed up my regularity too. The pill is a pain in the ass to take everyday but its better. I think anyways.

My sister got the depo shot...bled like crazy for 6 months...gained 20lbs...lost all her energy.

Yeah, Im ok with the pill right now, just the fact of not getting your period for 3 months was appealing.

it does work, its easy...stick it on your bum, leave it for a week, i find it better, cause its on for a week, dont have to worry about it as much, it stays on there, its convienent, and not noticable.

It might for the first little while, until your body gets used to it. But it helps with acne, cramps and things like that.. I have been on the pill for like 4 years.. its doin fine for me.

what about taking a shower n stuff doesn't it come off? is it more expecive?

I was on the shot for 3 years and getting off of it is one of the best things ive done... I gained a ridiculous amount of weight, it uber fucked up my regularity and turned me into a psycho bitch for a while....

there are a lot of things wrong with depo.. calcium pills are important but the damage is irreversible once it is done.. when i got on it doctors didnt know enough about it and now there is all this research coming out about the harmful effects to your bones

there is this newish drug called minerva and it lasts for 5 years... it is the most effective birth control and does not have the side effects assoicated with depo..

yea i dont pay for my pills right now...hmmm interesting....i think ill check it out :) are there different brands or is it only one brand?

i noticed on some BC that they make u gain weight and shit like that...what are the symptoms and or side effects? (sorry for the questions)

i had no symptoms or side effects on the patch, maybe a little moodiness, but nothing major at all.

I have been on the shot for over 8 years, there is no density loss in my bones(my doctor sent me for tests recently) and I did not notice the significant change that I noticed when I was on the pill. I try to eat my daily recommended as far as calcium goes.

For those of you that keep warding off the shot and telling girls no, you are not a doctor. The pill did not work for me. Just like the shot will not work for other girls.

Talk to your doctor and ask what he thinks is best for you.
