Ed Rush is one of the current leaders of the new school drum and bass. One of the originators to bring back the dark, funky sounds of drum and bass and push it to new levels, Ed Rush continues to make waves with each new release. Born in west London, Ed Rush originally started out into Hip Hop and Electro but eventually found the growing underground rave scene. Fascinated by the breaks in the hardcore
sounds at the time, Ed Rush quickly picked up the production end of the music and went on to release some of jungles biggest tunes of the era. The greatest acheivement was still ahead of him though in the form of a collaboration with Optical. They created their own label, Virus, and their first release was "Medicine/Punchbag," Their eventual LP, Wormhole in 1998, was released to critical and underground success, and is regarded as a genre classic, as the sounds from that album again redefined the direction drum and bass was headed, and solidified their status as the forerunners of the new sound of drum and bass. 10 years later and a slew of singles and LPs like The Creeps, Dr. Shade and Chameleon has put Ed Rush into the elite ranks of the legends of drum & bass. Constantly touring the globe and using the Virus label as a host to some of dnbs biggest talents like Pendulum, Gridlock & The Upbeats along with his own material, Ed Rush is showing no signs of slowing down after a decade and a half in the industry. Designed by a team of musically inclined mad scientists, Agent Orange is the prototype funk weaponry system brought to life by the Covert Funk Agency (CFA). Developed using a hybrid genetic strain of glitched out tendencies, crunky chromosomes and grimey basslines, his superior talents made him the first officially recognized CFA agent with the capability to consistently keep the party hype.The first missions had him deployed in the trenches of the drum & bass / jungle division but upgrades to the vast musical memory system soon expanded his sonic repertoire. The Agent's skills now cover the full spectrum of sound anywhere in the 80-180 bpm range during any given special assignment. A unique ability to recreate his genetic material musically has put him back in the lab from which he came but now at the helm of the controls and the resulting productions, remixes and mashups have been integrated into the Agent's funk assault systems. With the musical depth now at maximum capacity, his elite skills have been recruited for missions with a variety of the worlds top agents such as ZTrip, Krafty Kuts, The Rub, Deekline and Wizard, DJ Assault, Freq Nasty, Ghislain Poirier, ShyFX, Top Cat, Stanton Warriors, edIT, Mat the Alien and Bassnectar. A longterm posting protecting the homebase in his residency at Oh Snap! Saturdays in Edmonton, known to be one of Alberta's premier weekly dance parties, has made him a hometown favorite amongst local audiences.The most recent freelance mission has Agent Orange and his full audio arsenal scheduled to infiltrate Calgary and destroy the dancefloor at the Global Bass gathering!
