BASSIC New Years Eve- Skool of thought+Matt Dublin (cal)

This is going to be the best party we've ever done, and going to ring in the new year with a BANG... we've been working for months already on this, and are really really excited to bring you what will be one of your best nights out for a long time to come. Join us on Saturday, Decemeber 31st at Manhattans/Evolution NYLA for BASSIC NEW YEARS EVE - BLACK EDITION.

2 floors, Professionally designed decorations, TONS of extra sound and lighting support, dancers, champagne and 2 SICK SICK headliners that will blow your mind. We're pleased to announce our dj lineup for this year:

SKOOL OF THOUGHT
(UK - Dirty/Heavyweight Breaks)

28 year old Lloyd Seymour aka Skool Of Thought has been DJ’ing since the age of 14. Things really started to take shape when he kicked off the legendary "Carnage" night in St Albans during 1997. The club ran for two years and was credited in DJ magazine’s ‘Decade Of Dance’ issue for helping to form the "nu skool breaks" scene.

After moving to Brighton he teamed up with renowned party rocker Krafty Kuts and together they launched the SuperCharged club night with themselves as residents. With a jam packed club and guest DJ’s reading like the who’s who of breakbeat it has become one of the top nights in the country and Skool Of Thought now plays regular guest slots as far afield as Australia, Canada and Spain.

From this success, two record labels emerged: Against The Grain & SuperCharged with Skool Of Thought as head honcho steering the label to sell over quarter of a million records world-wide. His 'Sound Check' single with Krafty Kuts became one of the biggest selling breaks tunes of 2002 clocking up a respectable 7000 sales. Then followed a ‘Feel The Music’ written with Ed Solo which hit number 1 in DJ magazine’s beats chart as did his ‘Heavy Weight Breaks’ compilation. Skool Of Thought was also behind the massive breaks remixes of Beastie Boys “Fight for your right’ and Groove Armada’s ‘Superstylin’ of which the latter was voted 2nd best remix of the year on BBC Radio 1! We're bringing in TONS of extra bass for this guy, as his tunes are probably going to be the dirtiest breaks you'll ever hear in your life. Do NOT miss this set!

MATT DUBLIN
(Toronto - Dirty Electro House)

One of the fastest rising stars in the electronic music scene is none other than Toronto's Matt Dublin. He has fastened his reputation as a crowd-rocking favourite and is becoming one of the most sought after artists to emerge from Toronto. When Matt is on the decks he is constantly working the mixers faders and eq's, tweaking each record by cutting scratching and on the fly remixing. It is a combination of these ingredients that have helped him develop a unique connection with his audience.

As a result of Matt's hard work, he has been rewarded with features and interviews in various magazines, performances at large festivals, and recording contracts with various labels. Despite his busy schedule as a DJ and promoter, Matt has made time to start up his own studio to produce his own tracks. He also won best dj in Heineken's Found@Thirst nationwide contest in 2004. This is a man you can't miss. Be prepared for some dirty basslines!!

+ Locals:

Noda (Funky Breaks)
DJ Kev (Dirty Electro House)
Freddy J (Dirty Breaks)
Rhett B (House/Breaks)
Colin Stone (Progressive)

We are trying our best to add a third floor, but as it stands, we've only got the 2 big rooms. We'll update this when more information becomes available. This is a black-themed party, so everyone must come in black (at minimum a black top, but the more the better). Costumes are definitely encouraged, as we'll be giving out a few prizes to the best costumes of the night!

Tickets will go onsale within the next few days. DO NOT WAIT TILL THE LAST MINUTE TO GET YOUR TICKETS!! THIS EVENT WILL SELL OUT VERY FAST! We have very limited capacity (trying to get more, but for now we've only got the 2 floors, so don't wait to pick these up!) They will be available at Giant 45 and Phonics. We'll let you know the second they are in stores. Here's the price breakdown:

First 50 earlybird tickets: $16
Next 400: $23
More @ Door (if we have any room!)

Don't miss out on this party! If you were at our 1 year party, our Halloween show or even our last New Years show, you'll know that you can't miss out on this one. Hope to see you all there!! And Happy Holidays to all of you from the Bassic team!

Keep checking on www.bassiconline.com for more updates!!
