acquainted with once touched by his music. He has written, performed,
& recorded with Mad Mike Banks of Underground Resistance, Amp Fiddler,
Carl Craig, Jazzanova, Kevin Saunderson & most recently Kirk
Degiorgio. "This Is What It Is" was released on Kenny Dixon Jr.'s
Mahogani Music label. In perrformance, the versatility of the multi
instrumentalist/vocalist can sear the coolest heart. Be prepared for a
night of fun peppered in House, Jazz, Soul, & Blues that is not only
funky but also sexy.

PAUL RANDOLPH : LIVE SOULFUL FUNK-HOUSE

Paul Randolph is an emerging Detroit musician, singer and songwriter
who began studying music at the age of 6 while living in Sao Paulo
Brazil. His first instruments were percussion and guitar then later
in his teen's bass and vocals. Since then Randolph has honed his
talents in an eclectic range of music genres; Latin, Brazilian, Jazz,
Jazz-fusion, Rock, Folk, Funk, Blues, R&B, Soul, Reggae, as well as
House and Techno.

Through the years he has shared the stage with a host of host of
popular artist including P-Funk, War, Brian Setzer, Roy Ayers, Roy
Hargrove, Fred Wesley, John Hiatt, Hugh Masekela, Robin Tower, Buddy
Guy, Robert Cray, Ben Harper, Jr. Wells, Rapheal Sadiq, Odetta, Jack
Ramsey, and Eric Burdon to name a few.

Randolph has also been a strong supporter of the Detroit underground
electronic music scene since it's conception. He has written,
performed, and recorded with Mad Mike Banks of Underground
Resistance, 430 West, Carl Craig "Innerzone Orchestra"
("People Make the World go Round", "Galaxy", "Blackula"), Kevin
Saunderson and most recently Kirk Degiorgio. Randolph
first solo CD "This Is What It Is" was released in October 2004 on
Kenny Dixon Jr.'s Mahogani Music label.

Randolph is currently on tour with fellow Detroiter Amp
Fiddler. Favorable national and international acclaim has gained
Randolph recognition as an innovative and promising young talent.

BAQUE NUNCA ANTES - <afro-brazilian percussion>

Nunca Antes is a high-energy percussion troupe that brings deep rhythm
and raw performance to Toronto's streets. Comprised of about 20
dynamic percussionists, the group plays Afro-Brazilian rhythms in a
traditional style inherited from the maracatu nations of Recife
Brazil. We are a walking sound system with a heavy emphasis on the
bass drums, the alfaias. In command of the drums is the vibrant Aline
Morales. We play and entertain in any venue and we hold weekly
workshops for beginners and people already familiar with percussion
and Brazilian rhythms. In the short time since our inception, Nunca
Antes has changed the percussive landscape in Toronto, influencing
other bands and introducing a new style to the city. The "baque" is
the percussion of a maracatu. You've never before seen beats like
these!
