To answer your questions
Reason the cops came and stayed -they said a girl called freaking out that she got her purse stolen. I don't really believe the cops. -driving by they prob saw a lot of people outside and wanted to check it out. -they thought we were over cappacity but we wern't -people were leaving with booze in their jackets Reason they closed it down -too many ins and outs. Would have been easy for people with out id to sneak in or bring in un appropriate items. -they suck Shut down early -music went past 2am. I left at 2:15 and there were still people inside. They turned the lights on and turned the music down for a tiny bit around 1:40/ last call but then it kept going. -also the second room, it was still dark in there, people were dancing. It was still going justShell -Um.. there were two other doors. Why didn't you use those ones? everyone else was; I did and so did a ton of people. lol. Then the guy let people in after about 5 minutes. You just had to be nice. Don't bitch in bouncers faces or let your friends do that; the bouncers will be nice. -We were not over cappacity. We were watching that very closely. We were about 50 people under cappacity. -Promoters don't have licenses. thechix0r really? didn't like the sound. Everyone was telling us how much they were liking it. People about the Venue Ya the stage area isn't the best, but you can't put it anywhere else. Also, consider other venues in Vancouver. It is nice to have two rooms for a change and a space big enough that it can fit TONS of people but you can still walk across the room. Might be considerate of you to try and book a venue yourself before complaining. Revolver Ya downstairs was the original plan but the bar manager changed things last minute :( Also, downstairs is small cappacity but I like it down there a lot. Ashley Dawn and Prosac- I wouldn't be surprised if I can guess the people you are talking about Over all one of the best events of the year by far! |

^^^ Yeah, putting on a show is alot of work, but I think this one was slightly unorganized and I am not trying to appear to be ignorant to the fact either. But as with everything, constructive criticism is always good for the next show and I think it's important to hear what people had to say. I didn't say the show wasn't good, but I think there were a few things that could have been ironed out and it's good to let the promoters know about it. It's what makes things ever evolving and better the next time around. Making sure that security is tight and that the cops have no reason to suspect is a given... that's just my opinion about it. But having the lights turned on really did kill the mood and quite frankly I was embarressed for Shy FX, seeing as his set was completely awesome.
The sound I found was uneven throughout the place. If you weren't up at the front little platform, it was bit muffled. And the cops weren't letting people in after the first turn off of music because they were being dicks... they had both doors under watch... I think Shell has ever right to be pissed off. Again, I am not trying to fill this thread with negativity, as there is a difference between criticism to make for the better next time around and straight up bitching. I wouldn't be too offended by what people have to say :) |

fun night. good sound. the BASS felt like it was being shoved thru my body (its a good thing) so awsome. well pretty much everyone was there. Had a lot of fun. I dont think i need to give personal shout outs cuz well, ALL OF YOU WERE FUCKEN AWSOME!!!! :)

had a wicked time, until the friend i brought got locked outside for half an hour after she went out to have a smoke. oh well, stupid cops. she had fun watching drunken antics on the street anyway.
didn't see much of shy fx or benny page, was in the second room most of the night. ryan, you played a wicked set! everything sounded good. hope other people here got a chance to grab the CD because it's sweet. hello to everyone i saw, but didn't say hello to at the time. |

downstairs was a private party earlier, thats why it wasn't used i would imagine.
also, i have recently heard rumours that the waldorf may be lying to people about their liquor license and they might only be legal until 1 :o going to have to get some more info on that |

Great show guys... massive turnout!
To comment on the basement thing: As far as I know, the liquor license down there is food primary, which essentially means no booze unless its fully catered..whereas the upstairs pub and tiki room can be for purely boozin. Im not sure if thats still the case, but thats what the manager told me when I used the waldorf a few months ago. |
