Solid NYE '06 Official Review Thread
Well - what an evening this was!
A few quick things about the night: - Music was more than decent at least half of the time... - A lot of the DJs who played at a Solid party for the first time were a good choice. - All the headliners showed up - so that was awesome! - The sound system in the 2nd room was SICK (Bassbin Twins showed everyone what that setup was capable of)! Some things about the music: - Jimmy Chow, B-Funk, Hatiras, Bassbin Twins, Blank & Jones, and Anne Savage all ripped it up PROPER! Hells yeah! - I really liked the latest style that B-Funk has got going these days... a heavy grinding acid style bassline in his breaks tunes. Keep that up bro! - Blank & Jones had some hard tracks with pretty kewl electric basslines - so that was wicked too. - The sound in the main room was OK, but I thought it could've had more bass and a bit more compression on the higher frequencies. - The sound on the entrance stage kinda sucked... not gonna lie about that. And that monitor that fell on Sonny Chiba's head was not cool... it needed to have been more secure from the start. All in all, I had a good time! oooooooh NYE was BUMPIN
and bassbin twins live up to there name and delivered us some FAT bass but in the main room it either goes to Anne Savage, or Blank and Jones pretty even on my scale but in any care GREAT event hope to see ya'll next year |

what a night to remember
stoneface and terminal started the night off great the main room was pretty much PACKED by 12:00 party was a nammer rave....in mainroom had to be 10:1 lol blank and jones dropped some killer vocal trance and anne savage didnt disapoint would have to give this 9/10 awesome end to 2006 |

Well that was definatly a good way to bring in the new year. The set up in the main room was sick..I even liked having the boards up..kinda cool..all the the stages sounded wicked. Thank you all that were arround for my set...With Project.One 6:30-7:15..stage 3...we had a great time thank you Solid for having us..Cant wait till next time.

well that was an interesting night... first time back to a pne rave in over a year. Alot of good sets... Hatiras Killed it.... His girlfriend is a bombshell.... Wundrkut played a nice old school hip hop set... And when I say old school, he was playing tracks when hip hop was essentially being born. Any hip hop fans that did not attend his set missed out BIG TIME... I enjoyed it. Blank and Jones was pretty impressive. Sonny Chiba had an awesome set but it was unfortunant that one of the monitors fell over and nailed him in the head and he had to step aside for a few moments... Big Orange Dan came to the rescue to drop a few tracks to keep the music going and so that Sonny could catch his breath but Sonny came back and completed his set... Really enjoyed Jimmy Chows set... I think the main room could of used few extra bass bins to give it more punch. I think that in the future though Solid Corp should just leave the PNE raves to just 3 stages. It was great that they gave stage 2 some bigger sound then previous pne events. Some fight broke out... saw 5 people escorted out... some of them struggled and were hussled to the ground. Witnessed some guy cheap shot another... weak stuff. Aside to that my legs are destroyed....
Shoutouts: Tigran: Good times man... Was fun chilling at your crib before going to the pne and drop some tunes... Thanks for the pointers on EQ'ing.... Now I want your mixer!!! Oh and WTF was with you finding random shit on the street... And next time you have to do some mcdonalds freestyling.... Matty: Good seeing you dude. I'm truely sorry that in the end I couldn't give you a ride to the hotel.... I was just in to much pain with my legs and had to leave at like 5-5:30pm... Best wishes for you and your gf in the new year Tim: Man we bump into each other every now and then whether if its at a rave or a club... Always a pleasure to see you. Rob: Hey man good seeing you out, looks like you had a great time. Hope the adrenaline and atmosphere relieved all that pressure from off your chest... Can't wait to see V1 events in 07. You took down my number... Anytime gimme a shout. Greg C: So did they infact spell your name wrong.... Who the hell was Tim C? Love the speed garage that you dropped. B-Funk: I've seen your previous sets before but this one at NYE tops all them. Sick sick tunes.... Oh and someone could of gotten you pair of headphones for christmas... Love the Handy tape job on that beast.... Random Guy at Gas Station: Hey man thanks for the dollar that you decided to put in my pocket... Considering I didn't have 3 bottle openers like you found in your pocket. Have yourself a happy new year. In all I hope everyone had an enjoyable NYE. I was in the main room most of the night and I can tell you that this event was 100x better than Dooms. Sound was way louder, visuals were sweet too. Blank & Jones ripped it up like crazy! Anne Savage played it super hard right after. Breaks room was bumpin' too! Hatiras is dope!
