Sounds of the Underground....
kicked my ass.
I realize I'm probably puttng up this post for my own personal enjoyment and that I'll be lucky if this post even garners a single reply but whatever! I don't think anyone off the board other than myself went! What a show.... start to finish it was unreal. The only real shame was that it was moved to the PNE Forum building but with a decent set of earplugs the sound was just fine. My highlights: Madball - New York hardcore at it's finest. These guys demolished the pit and held it down pretty early in the day. Devil Driver - Lots of tracks off the new album and Dez Fafara kicked my ass hard. That guy has crazy pipes man. Terror - A bit of NY Hardcore and then Terror gave us the LA Hardcore. Mean and outta control, just the way I like it. Throwdown - Hardcore band covers Sepultura's 'Roots Bloody Roots' and does it better than anyone else I've ever heard. NUFF SAID... GWAR - Dude, it's fucking Gwar... I don't need to explain shit. Lamb of God - HOLY HELL... what a performance. Randall Blythe is one of the most charismatic frontmen to grace metal in years and he proved it last night. An amazing set from the first note to last. Had some massive circle pits for a few tracks and when they played 'Black Label' we went into a full out wall of death, it was mayhem. Hands down one of the best shows I've been to in a long. long time. If there's a Sounds of the Underground 2006 I'll be there in a heartbeat. |

Person I grew up with in montreal was actually the webmaster for gwar for 5 years. He still keeps good contacts with them. He has a whole shit load of never before released material and such. Such recordings when they jammed with kurt cobain in a studio when he was around.... I've listened to this material and its just amazing.
