The lineup situation must be addressed.
It's kind of embarassing for the event to make a headliner like DJ Dean waiting outside for over half an hour. Also seeing DJ's trying to sneak in to play at their stage. I mean that's just wrong in my opinion. |

Lowest pointless god damn reply ever. How bout you do us a god damn favor and cancel your account on this forum. Nobody is hating in this thread.... just giving god damn suggests that can give the promoters feedback that can benefit them in the future... Without providing any type of feedback it can leave to many things that can be left out for there next event. Since it seems like you know what the fuck your talking about here's a question I have for you... Have you ever organized any parties???? Have you ever worked a god damn crowd.... Have you ever setup a system determining where to position the equipment and how to setup accoustic barriers to avoid "clashing"...???? Who the fuck are you to start flaming a person that even spun a set at Apex and obviously knows alot more then you??? Fuckin christ I hate ppl like these...... |

Sound bleed is expected at this event. I can do things like drop down the number of stages and space them out more, and have everyone complain there wasn't enough stages. Or we can continue to allow that many stages and have the event like we had Saturday. I appreciate that you think there are things to do for sound bleed, like setting up barriers, but those barriers create an unsafe environment. Security and the RCMP frown upon them. Why would I go against what they say and in turn risk having the event shut down? Not only that, doing quick fixes like sticking a large vehicle in between does things like lower capacity. I would hate to see someone get stuck outside because we needed to stop sound clashing that bad. We know about the things like sound clashing, and to resolve something like that, a lot of the promoters did 4 corner sound this year. We could also change the directionality of the stages, but once again, creates a security and liability issue. Both things the promoters, nor I, want. Since you haven't ever been at any of the apex meetings, you don't know this, but I will fill you in.....the promoters least concern is if there is sound clashing inbetween stages. As far as the line up catastrophe is concerned, it got out of hand very early. A few factors included, no one lining up properly. Some did, they created a line, but most just joined in the blob of people. When we would try to yell to organize the line, most people just cheered. We have never had a turn out like that, that early in the evening. The line up was completely in by 1:00am. Which is a far cry better than last year considering the line up wasn't in till 3:30. People seem to forget this awfully quickly. I appreciate all of you have suggestions, and I have already addressed them with my team. I understand where Set2hate is coming from, not all of the criticism here is constructive. I have thought of, and done every scenario, for all the issues addressed, and unfortunately, the answer isn't as easy as it all may seem to you. Thanks to all those that supported us and was patient with the line up. See you next year! |

Well..
Every year after apex us the promoters take new idea's and reponses from this forum and other sources and try to make the following year better and better....there is always something we will have to improve on....its nearly impossible to satisfy 6000 +/- people.....and if that happened i mean we would be really really $#$&ing happy...I mean this party takes alot of time to plan....there is always last minute changes that make the party that much better or worse, but its alot of work and stress.....but the cool thing about apex is that more and more people join us every year.... bigger stages better dj's....apex is one of those parties that i look foward too every year.....outside and cheap for every body unlike some indoor parties through out the year.....
peace Apex 2006 here we come !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
