not to be missed!! shimon is such an amazing producer, and the main force behind any collaborations with andy c (i mean, he's an amazing dj, but when's the last time anyone heard a solo tune?) and ram trilogy. should be sick :)
am i blind or did that bio completely exclude the MOLTEN BEATS album from his credentials?? that's gotta be one of the best drum & bass LP's of all time, and still holds it down alongside everything else out there now. personally it did a lot more for me than any tune like bodyrock ever would. |

"Already responsible for a raft of drum'n'bass classics recorded throughout the '90s, Ram Recordings' bosses Andy C and Ant Miles - formerly known as Origin Unknown - united with fellow Ram producer Shimon to form Ram Trilogy. Fittingly, the three debuted with a trio of epic singles during the last half of 1998, the industrial-strength anthems "No Reality/Scanners," followed by "Mind Overload/Intercity" and "Chase Scene/Terminal 1." All three singles took as their template the darkstep style becoming increasingly ubiquitous throughout the jungle scene (a sound pioneered by Origin Unknown themselves), but advanced the cause considerably with a legion of future-shock beats and effects. A year later, the notoriously media-shy team emerged from the underground with the first full-length ever released on Ram Recordings, Molten Beats."
true dat jeff, sick SICK album.....i'm going to dig some tunes up off that to play two weeks from now i think.... |

yea, such a good LP. honestly i haven't really heard anything come out on ram since then that even came close.
while i'm bringing up bio technicalities, ant miles and andy c are not formerly known as origin unknown. they didn't abandon the project to form ram trilogy - origin unknown released plenty of tunes after the molten beats LP came out. |

Yeah, thats totally bugged me too!, But I do know his name is Simon Alcoby. So i prolly think it's Shy-Mon, but it think SHIM-Mon sounds a lil less weird....I'd feel like I'd be speaking with a Lisp if I called him that!, haha~! |
