I think pulp makes the OJ taste fresher and more like it is actually freshly squeezed.

i'm super picky about the texture of anything i eat/drink... so i'm going with no chunkies, kthx.

then again, i don't really drink orange juice without liquor.

i think i'll just stick with my mango peach party.. or raspberry juice.

i heard that if you drink too much oj without pulp then it begins to act as a laxative.

especially tropicana.

Funny how something as simple as 30 seconds and a google search can stop you from looking stupid!

In addition to the skin, which is an important source of fiber in most fruits, the pulpy part of the fruit is also a source of fiber (and other nutrients). Orange juice makes a good example of the health difference when you focus on the issue of its pulp. The white pulpy part of the orange is the primary source of its flavonoids. The juicy orange-colored sections of the orange contain most of its vitamin C. In the body, flavonoids and vitamin C often work together, and support health through their interaction. When the pulpy white part of the orange is removed in the processing of orange juice, the flavonoids in the orange are lost in the process. This loss of flavonoids is one of the many reasons for eating the orange in its whole food form (even if you only end up eating a little bit of the white pulpy part). Although many commercial products will say "pulp added" on their labels, the "pulp added" many not even be the original pulp found in the whole fruit, and it is highly unlikely to be added back in the amount removed.
And the rest of you pulp-haters... Let me guess, you're the same people who say "Let's go for sushi!", and then once you're there, all you order is cucumber-rolls... I bet you order plain cheese pizzas too!

Hi, I like pulp and when I go for Japanese food I order cucumber rolls as I don't eat meat or seafood, and I assure you, there is nothing wrong with cucumber rolls (or oshinko rolls...mmm).

Most orange juice, or juce in general that can be purchased at the grocery store isn't as good for you as you think, many of them have actually very little real fruit content and are loaded with sugar. Also a lot of juices are sneaky (ie cranberry juices contain mostly plum juice).

Nope! Salmon, Eel and Octopus Nigiri Sushi for me. And Cheese Pizza is for chumps.

Fibre? I don't need to drink my Fibre. That's what the Whole Wheat Bread on my Sandwiches is for.

There's nothing wrong with cucumber rolls (or oshinko rolls), but if that's all you eat at a Japanese restaurant, it's pretty much the equivalent of going to a mexican restaurant and only eating plain tortilla chips.
