I went to the Met a couple of times to see Toby/Jay/George.

The number of wannabe thugs and drunken jungle skanks made me want to vomit and I haven't been back since.

For once, Robb, I have to agree with you. Gimme the symphony over jungle gangland anytime.

People's musical tastes change. When I first started raving I listened to nothing but jungle, but now I really don't think there's been a dnb track put out that I've liked since like 2000. Doesn't make me or anyone else who doesn't dig it anymore any better than anyone.

actually, my theory is that jungle just got a whole lot more wack in the last couple of years.

At least the "mainstream" stuff which is generally what you hear when you go out.

Pendulum is the worst thing to ever happen to jungle.

Twisted Indivdual is a close second.

I miss The Met... it's a great bar, and they play some killer chill liquidfunk every time I'm there. Not to mention Bias is the only dnb DJ I ever heard drop dubstep while I was there.

DNB is such a varied genre these days anyways. . .there's stuff I love and stuff I hate. And I do see rawb at shows....I think the subject of this thread was the Met anyways, not jungle as a whole.

And I totally agree about musical tastes changing. Mine sure have changed over time. Recently I put on a bunch of old "favorite" mixtapes I'd made around 2000/2001. It was scary. :o
