Cops who expect you to respect the law when they don't

This isn't some "man... i was just skateboarding and the cop kicked me out of the mall parking lot... boo fucking hoo thread"


I was walking out of my place, and towards my car when a cop that knew me drove by and creeped to about 5km an hour and stared me down while i was getting into my car..

I get into my car drive and sure enough hes parked around the corner waiting for me... as soon as i pass him the lights come on..

Now since i know these cops and how they would search my car anyways, i tell them right upfront that i had bearmase (bear deterrent) in the car, since i had just come back from camping in osoyoos with my girlfriend.

They take the bearmase and place it ontop of my trunk and go back to their car...

another cop car pulls up behind him..

the bitch cop comes up to my window and gives me a ticket for no N sign, and no registration papers.. and is trying so hard to piss me off... but it's not working... because at the end of the day, i'm just goin to dispute it to piss them off... and also wont ahve to pay a cent of it for at least a year cause thats how long our courts take..

anyways.. i'm like, so give me back my bearmase... and she says that her partner will come talk to me about it..

Note: From this point on... pay attention... do not let cops bully you, or trick you... because it happens ALL the time to people who don't know how to deal with cops.

I tell him i want my bear deterrent back since it's not illegal, and that they didn't even have the right to search my car and i willingly told them it was in my car to begin with.. Legally you're allowed to have knives/bear spray/etc in your car.. so long as it's not in the direct reach of the driver.... so under the passenger seat is LEGAL..

Now i don't even give a fuck about the bear spray.. it was 50 bucks... i'll buy a new one today... what i am pissed about is cops trampling on your rights and bullying you..

I tell him to give it back and he says no and that hes taking it... I tell him hes not allowed to, and he goes off about how its a weapon... He says it can be used as a weapn... I say... so can a fucking air freshner... i'm pretty sure if i smashed you in the face with a can of febreeze it would hurt too... so whats your fucking point?

He says that i have bearsprayed people before.. THIS IS SLANDER. I have absolutely no criminal history at all. That in itself is fucked up.... I have been with my GF for 5 years, so it wouldn't make a difference... but what if i was with someone who was a tightass... like a business prospect or something like that?

I ask him to tell me my criminal history, to back up the slanderous statement...

He starts to walk back to his car, and tells me to get back in my car or hes going to tow it... I tell him i want his name... and hes like "my partners name is on the ticket"... I said i don't give a fuck and that i want HIS name.. which he legally has to give me, and not cover up with his fucking arm like he was doing to the badge on his chest... He wouldn't give me his name and started to ignore me... I yelled "I WANT YOUR NAME AND BADGE NUMBER" loud enough so that the cop parked behind him would also hear it, so that the cop would look like a fucking idiot if he didn't give it to me..

He writes down his name on his card and comes back and says, if you want my name, i'll give it to you but then i'm going to charge you for having a weapon...

I take the card from his hand and tell him to charge me... He of course starts to walk back to his car, because hes a fucking mental midget, and his bullying tactics didn't work on me...

This may not seem like a big deal to you... but it's a huge deal for me... I don't give a fuck about the 200 in tickets or the 50 bear mase... that doesn't mean shit and didn't piss me off at all... What really pisses me off is somebody in an authority possition trampling on my rights..

I called his supervisor, and said i want to file a formal complaint... I ask him how i can go about doing so... At this point he should TELL ME THE STEPS TO FILE A COMPLAINT... but he asks me why i want to file a complaint... (WHAT A SUPRISE... THE PEOPLE WHO LOOK INTO COMPLAINTS ARE THE COPS FRIENDS... HOW EFFECTIVE!)

After i tell him the story, he tells me that bearmase is illegal... so then i ask how come Canadian Tire sells it?... He says it's illegal and thats the risk i take when i buy it from canadian tire.. and that its a weapon and that its illegal to buy.... Yah... Right.. I'm sure a company as big as canadian tire needs the extra peanut revenue they generate by selling bear spray.. need it so bad that they would sell illegal items....

So i basically tell him hes absolutely wrong and ask for info about how to file a complaint, and if i can do it at their station or if i have to go somewhere else...

Step one 1.) Going to rip around on my bike for a bit, and then file a formal complain at the police station

Once you tell cops you're going to file a formal complaint, you will notice that their attitude will completely change towards you, because when you file a formal complain (and not just say you will and forget about it) it will go on their record forever. This record of theirs will be reviewed when it comes time for promotions etc.

Step two 2.) Talk to my lawyer to see if anything can be done regarding the slander




May seem like i'm wasting a lot of time with this shit, but my rights is something i take very seriously, and do not like being fucked with... That and my business runs itself, so i have the time to persue shit like this without it hurting my life/work in any way.


If more people actually started filing formal complaints against the assholes who fucked with them, they would smarten up a bit and think a little harder before they fuck with people.

That's really hurting. It sucks that these "bad ass" cops try and push peoples limits just basically because they have nothing better to do, and it puts the "good cops" that are doing their job correctly in danger.

Push your rights and piss him off some more, because I’m so sick of hearing about cops pushing their bullshit. I’ve had my fair share of asshole cops and it makes a lot of people hate them, all which sucks because a lot just are trying to do their jobs correctly.

like ICBC... if you are not happy with your settlement, you talk to "icbc fairness practices office"... which is run by icbc also... so if you're like "i dont think icbc gave me enough money" ... you think another department in icbc is going to side with you.. pfft...

Not to mention don’t get me started on the “Transit Cops”. I’ve never been caught without a ticket, I do have a bus pass, but they wont even let you ask for directions without getting attitude from them.

What area was this? From my experience Coquitlam cops are THE worse! The more bored they are the more rude they are it seems.

Coquitlam centre area...

they are ones that give me the most trouble... but generally speaking.. municipality cops are the ones on the biggest power trips since they are not RCMP... like port moody police and new west police

RCMP have let me get away with shit before when i was a minor so i have respect for them.

I think your right about the rookie part tho, my dad says the same thing, when his buisness gets broken into he says half the time they cant even find the place even thouhg its in a very obvious location.

which would be slander with the exception of if someone accuses you TO the police (and I assume the same holds true if the police say it)


edit : I should clarify, all i'm saying is this is what holds up in courts afaik. what he said would be considered slander by any means other than what you could legally sue/charge him for.

Update: I went to the police station to file a complaint.. and listen to this... I ask the receptionist how i can go about filing a complaint (since the supervisor last night told me to go to the station tomorrow)

So i go in and say this person told me to come here today to file a complaint..

she then asks why... as if it's any of her fucking business... her and some other fat bitch working behind the counter... i say i just want to file a complaint and talk to the person who will do that for me..

she says i cant do that here.. and that the person isn't working... and i say I WANT TO FILE A COMPLAINT, SEND SOMEONE OUT HERE..

so she calls 3 different people until finally someone comes down into the main office area where i was waiting..

the guy walks up to me and is like "you have some questions?" .... and at this point, the 2 fat retarded receptionists come over to the area and start listening... so i tell him to the story and hes like "you seem excessively frustrated"... i'm like... you're god damn fucking right i'm frustrated... i want to file a complaint.. not a runaround.. and he starts going off about how i shouldn't blah blah blah...

and then get this fucking part.. i wanted to snap..

the receptionist now comes over to us... and i'm like... yeah?

and shes like "i have a question for you... why do you think what the officer did is wrong" in a REALLY bitchy way.... I wanted to kick her in the throat... who the fuck does she think she is.. shes a fucking RECEPTIONIST. all 300 fucking pounds of her.

I ask her if shes an officer, and she says no.... so it's not any of her fucking business.

so i tell the supervisor that i don't want HIS OPINION and to just let me file a complaint.. and then hes like "get him the form" to the receptionists...

they shuffle some papers and are liek "we can't find the form... we've never had someone file a complaint before so we don't know where they are"

Yeah... i'm fucking sure...

he gives me this card and is like "write a letter to this address"

i tell him i dont want to write a fucking letter and send it snail mail to the address... i want to fill out the complaint form WHICH THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE, and DO have because i have friends who have filled them out..

they are just trying to stall me and delay me hoping that i will just give up and not file a complaint because they know how it will fuck over the cop..

because the complaint process goes like this... You file a complaint... then they take a statement from you, then they have to take a statement from the cop.. and then a high official reviews it etc and reports back to the person who filed the complain and the officer.. and it also goes on the officers record forever..

so i kept telling the guy i wanted to file the complain via the form.. and he started yelling at me telling me to leave



this is fucking bullshit.. they wouldn't let me file a complaint... you're not supposed to have to MAIL some fucking letter describing the situation... there is a FORM you fill out. it's part of the complaint process..

Anyways.. i'm going to call back tomorrow and speak to somebody else and ask if they have a form i can fill out to file a complaint (in a very nice tone.. and not tell them anything about my situation... to see if they give it to me)

and if they DO give it to me... i'm going to look into getting those videos of the supervisor telling me its impossible and that there are no such forms to file a complaint.. because the entire area is audio and video recorded and its stated over all the walls with like 10 different cameras
