What the hell? $19.99 for an oil & filter is really $49.99. Fuck you false advertisement! Then they tell me that my tires need changing-OK. $395!
Then they fubar my expensive rims and don't apologize. Anyone have any horror stories?
Don't go to Apollo Muffler Centre on W2nd!!!
Makes me not want to leave the house these days.

my dad was a ACE hobby-mechanic.he tought me alot but i wished i learnd more..

he was full on. swappin engines into this...machiening and boreing out that,bla bla...

most work i do myself except for the sketchy bottom end stuff in the case,heads and transmission

but oils,starters,alts,brakes,plugs,filters, timing...all the top end stuff i can do on my own and it saves a ton of money and hassle.

i just replaced the brake pads in my van the other day...parts cost me only $24 dollars. time,about 2 hours or so.

if i had that done at like canadian tire its easily 150 plus.

I'm not completely incompetent when it comes to cars. At the moment, I'm replacing the front light assembly by myself. For $19.99, someone else can change the oil. I just don't like some rip off artists ruining my rims and overcharging me for it.

I just had a wheel baring changed on my truck... cost $480... other places quoted it as being close to $650.

I wouldn't be able to do it myself, I just call around to find the best deal.

If the name of a place has 'muffler' in it.... I wouldnt goto them for anything BUT muffler work...

what kind of car do you have?? $20 oil changes do exist, but it depends on the application.
