Complaining about the rain in Vancouver

Fuck this. It's cold. It's wet.

I have been handling the frizzy hair, the stepping in puddles, the smelly damp buses, the high electrical bills from cranking my heat, the cold feet, the putting 3 or 4 layers on to leave the house, the icy fingers and the raindrops on my glasses for well over 8 months now.

I'm done being patient. I want some sun, some blue sky, some sleeping with the windows open, some picnic days, some drinks on the patio. I want to not have to put closed-toed shoes on for a couple weeks straight. Is that so much to ask for after a crappy summer last year followed by 3/4 of a year under dank grey skies?!

Yeah, it's funny how even if you've lived in Vancouver all your life the conversational starter often still begins in the comment about the weather/rain. It's almost part of the Vancouver culture.

But truly though, rainy days in Vancouver are absolutely MISERABLE, and deserves complaints. In Vancouver, when it rains, it's cold, windy, dark and miserable. It cuts through you like a knife and really brings down your mood.

My flight was majorly delayed thanks to the thunderstorms, meaning I would have missed my connection home, so I got an extra two days in Miami!

I don't hate the rain in Vancouver because it's rain, I hate it because it's fucking COLD :(

Well, I've been spending the last 4 hours sitting next to a window and every time I look outside I see nothing but white in the sky.

Saw a few breaks earlier. Still completely overcast where I am right now.

I'm more pointing out that the come of solstice didn't really change much insofar as the weather we've been having as of late. Yesterday was all overcast, and while we managed to get some decent sun Wednesday evening, the morning wasn't so hot
